I’ve been tracking the phantom drain daily reported by electraFi since July 2024. My phantom drain has improved significantly in The four days since I updated to 2024.47.1 This is with Gear Guard turned off except for a period of time on version 2024.39.1.

I have not been keeping an average but have been monitoring my VD after each update. Mine jumped up with .39 with no reasonable explanation and hasn’t recovered since (just got 47.1 the other day but here is yesterday’s ElectraFi report). I’m still getting a ton of sleep/idle cycles that Rivian can’t figure out (waiting for my service appointment)

I haven't been monitoring vampire drain. However, on Saturday I charged to 70% and unplugged. On Sunday, the SoC had crept _up_ to 71%. I'm attributing this to temperature, but maybe there's a software component. I dunno. If I keep getting an extra 1% per day, without plugging in, someone's getting a Nobel prize! :like:

Awesome stats and impressive work keeping all this data!
Curious if there is any way to standardize for variables such as ambient temperature that would definitely impact the phantom drain.

The truck has been in the North Bay the whole time Except for 7 days in Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. It is outside when I’m on the bike, and inside the garage when I’m home. Since the last update, it is sitting in the Sacramento airport garage

Gotcha, I should have realized you were in a place with relatively similar temps. So ingrained in me as a Midwesterner to think triple digits in summer and negative temps in winter.

I did see an improvement since .47 as well but the cold weather hit the last few days and I started seeing spikes. I’m monitoring though.

Mine has definitely improved. It got to the point where it's drop 2-3% per day in my (climate controlled) garage (gear guard off and proximity locking disabled) while plugged in (charger kept kicking on.). Frequently, I'd get in the truck and the actual SoC was 2% lower than setpoint (68% when set at 70).

Ever since the update, I haven't seen any appreciable drain at all. And like othere have experienced, I've even seen it at 71%.

EITHER it's improving, or they do a small over-charge and hide it in the software so we all think it's better. Hopefully the former!

Definitely not over-charge. My r1s was not plug in for about 36 hours now with 0 drain reported

Go open a door and see what it actually says.

I'm starting to think it's software smoke and mirrors. I lost 5 miles / 2% last night, double my old normal, after nothing the previous night. Perhaps it's not syncing as frequently after the update. It's definitely not waking as it used to when my PAAK was near at home.

Just opened the door and still at 254 miles since the last time I check. 81%.

There is some variation from day to day

I added some statistical measures. I am not a statistician, so I feel free to abuse stats

I wish Rivian would be more transparent in terms of the actions they are taking related to VD. I think we all appreciate it but seeing things change without knowing what and why is not comforting.
