Can't say I am surprised. Still love my R1S but yeah they aren't coming out of the factory trouble free.

FWIW I am a CR subscriber and was never sent a survey to complete. I would have actually been honest with the survey. My first R1S (my current vehicle is my second) had a catastrophic rear motor failure 20 miles from the service center which led eventually to a buy back. But I did give Rivian a second chance and the second vehicle is not without its issues (in 6 months it has been in service center three times and mobile service 3 times) but at least the rear drive unit didn't self destruct. So the poor reliability rating is deserved at this juncture, but hopefully they can improve QC at the factory to resolve this and take pressure off the overworked service centers.
I too a CR subscriber and didn't get request to complete survey. I have so far had no significant issues with 2023 R1T.

It’s not normal for mass market brands. Rivian wants to sell >100k R2s per year. The status quo for service and reliability isn’t going to cut it at those levels.
And the increased volume supports the increased service overhead.

In my almost one year of EV ownership: Rivian 4 (4months), Tesla 0 (10 months)
Oh no 4 whole times? How did you ever manage such a difficult task?

Possibly, also possible that including the 2022 year 1 vehicles may have skewed the data for Rivian in this particular article, especially since we do not see the data behind the analysis.

I have almost 2 years and 26k miles on my early 2022 R1S, have had 2 issues, both in the first 4 months, one was a bad module causing OTAs to fail and one was a slow leak causing the air suspension to sag after sitting overnight. Neither prevented me from using the vehicle as intended and both were fixed.

In my experience having purchased over 15 new vehicles over the last 45+ years my Rivian experience has been on par with the other new vehicles I purchased. It may be worth noting there were 3 Subarus, who was number 1 on this latest list, included in my list of new vehicles.
Of course this is very anecdotal but having owned over 30 vehicles in the last 50 years, my Rivian is probably the second worst, with a BMW X5 getting the award for first.

Trade it in for a Cybertruck that way when people in public laugh at you you’ll at least know the reason why.

I stopped giving a rats ass what people think a long time ago. It’s ugly, that’s for sure. But I kinda like it because it is? Wish I could charge my Rivian 1300 miles/hour like the CT will be able to though.

It doesn't surprise me at all that you like the CT.

That might be the first time you've actually said anything positive about the Rivian, of course surrounded by your usual Rivian bashing but still.

Recently released Consumer Report about Least Reliable Car which shows, R1T as the least reliable car in the USA.
I had my R1T since May 2023, in general, I am happy with the car. I had many minor issues and one serious issue(lost power suddenly on a high way) but all these issues were been addressed promptly by Rivian, either by visiting the service center or having a mobile service at my house with no cost to me. Rivian service is outstanding compared to other cars.
My only concern is after the end of the warranty how much it will cost me to maintain my R1T? Is it going to be feasible to keep the car with all the issues I had during the past 18 months (12,500 miles) ?
