I completely agree with you. I also think that what a human deems safe is wrong, more often than not. What a computer deems "reckless" is not always accurate.

It's cute that you think this is about safety. It's about PROFIT for insurance companies. First off, the 1984 reference wasn't to the actual year 1984, but the book. Read it sometime, it's classic literature for a reason. Keep in mind it was written as a warning not an instruction manual.I know you're trying to fear monger and all, but a large portion of road users were literally safer in 1984. Your ill-conceived notion that you're somehow only affecting yourself when you recklessly drive a 7,500 missile on publicly-funded roads is nonsensical.
The more this line goes up, and the corresponding one for bicyclists, the more regulation and "lack of freedom" you'll experience on the road. Keep the line down, and there won't be a need for "telematics" or the "nanny state" to crack down on you.

You're really trying to make this an "us vs them" type of deal when it really isn't. No one is out to get you and your "telematics" data. You can turn off a bunch of data sharing functionality, and if that's not enough for you, then you should take it up with Rivian to change course or find a new vehicle. This whole "I don't want to live in a world" nonsense is just the corollary of me telling you "if you don't like it then leave" and I know for a fact you wouldn't like that one bit.You want to live in a nanny state that's on you. I don't. I also explained how telematics could be misintepreted based on perfectly safe activities once already, but apparently I need to do it again.
Judging by what? I'd say my million or so miles driven accident free in the last 20 years says I'm a pretty good judge of what is safe.I completely agree with you. I also think that what a human deems safe is wrong, more often than not.
utilizing every bit of power my truck has departing each red light is safe and is my god given right!I completely agree with you. I also think that what a human deems safe is wrong, more often than not.
WHAT?? Are you serious???? Oh my god, I'm so silly how could I mix up a year and a book like that!! I had no idea, I'll go buy that and the one about the thermometer right now!!First off, the 1984 reference wasn't to the actual year 1984, but the book.
Good job. You're not the median driver. Unfortunately you're not the only one on the road.Judging by what? I'd say my million or so miles driven accident free in the last 20 years says I'm a pretty good judge of what is safe.
It absolutely IS an us vs them deal. Since you don't even know the book 1984 it's clear you aren't going to agree with me and don't even understand the problem with giving this sort of data up on yourself. There's no point in discussing it further. You're really trying to make this an "us vs them" type of deal when it really isn't. No one is out to get you and your "telematics" data. Sure, but having it your way I'm still penalized.Good job. You're not the median driver. Unfortunately you're not the only one on the road.
It's my RIGHT to be able to pulverize that mother and her two kids in a stroller into fine mist if she's in the intersection even one NANOSECOND after MY light goes green!!utilizing every bit of power my truck has departing each red light is safe and is my god given right!
Hey look a strawman where an actual rebuttal should be. Thanks for letting me know i've won, as you cannot refute my actual argument so you had to turn it into a strawman.utilizing every bit of power my truck has departing each red light is safe and is my god given right!
I am going to refrain from getting banned off this forum by pointing out the absolutely massive boulder of a point that went whizzing by your head in my original post, and instead let you continue to embarrass yourself with this "gotcha"Since you don't even know the book 1984
Maybe we should all get out and PUSH our trucks like you do just so we don't go over the acceleration of a city bus. Would hate to have my super truck go too fast now. It's my RIGHT to be able to pulverize that mother and her two kids in a stroller into fine mist if she's in the intersection even one NANOSECOND after MY light goes green!!
The guy making strawman arguments thinks he has a point.I am going to refrain from getting banned off this forum by pointing out the absolutely massive boulder of a point that went whizzing by your head in my original post, and instead let you continue to embarrass yourself with this "gotcha"
