For those who don't know what UWB phone key is, it's a different technology that is supposed to be more reliable than the Bluetooth Key. It lives in your Apple/Google wallet. It's supposed to work even if your phone is dead, by tapping it to the door handle like a key card.

Bluetooth is used for Gen 1, Almost all Tesla vehicles until this year, etc.

Gen 2 is equipped with UWB, but there is next to no information out there on what it is and what devices are even supported. Is it even live yet, or are we still waiting on an update to turn it on? Do we know what Android devices are supported beyond "some pixels"?

I have this question also. Anyone know??
Just took delivery of Gen2 can’t find any info. Yet pre release reviews from Colorado all talk about it.

Yeah... Still trying to figure it out myself. I took delivery of my R1S 10 days ago. I have a Galaxy that does have UWB - and it FOR SURE isn't using it. If I turn off Bluetooth, phone key doesn't work at all.

My bf has a pixel 9 pro and when both of us are approaching the Rivian 9/10 times his phone makes contact first, it unlocks well before we get to the door and it's chosen his profile.

Still haven't tested his by turning off Bluetooth

For iOS the promise was that you’d have a key you could trigger from within the Wallet app that would use UWB for Gen 2. That does not appear to be implemented yet as far as I can tell but hoping someone else knows more about this so I am watching this thread.

The PAAK behavior is not as refined as it is with our teslas though it took a while and multiple OTA updates for Tesla to get it right.
