Why do you guys keep feeding into him? Hes not even entertaining is his laughable made up conclusions, and frankly, he is very dim-witted (other words fit better, but I will be nice).

Just put him on ignore. Problem solved, and you stop gumming up the rest of the forum with -his- nonsense.
I do it because my therapist won’t give me Xanax….yet.

So your robotaxi will do what if you are in it for a ride into the mountains and weather/ road conditions change? Stop in the road? Turn around and take you home? If they are sharing the road with the rest of us they need to be able handle the same conditions we do.

You just accidentally stumbled into admitting they are far from ready but you’ll never say the words.
This is exactly why we are far from actual "FSD", regardless of what the overpaid cheerleader says...
The systems need to be good enough not to predict every situation, but to respond to novel situations in a safe manner for ALL road users (i.e. not just the narcissists in the Muskymobile). Musk was quoted above saying he needs them to behave well when faced with a surprise narrow dead-end road. Obviously, that isn't anything close to reality now.
At this point, every mile driven in FSD without supervision is an explicit admission that you are willing to kill everyone else on the road to beta test a product for free.

ON a related note: ClusterTruck danger of the day:
"It doesn’t take a keen eyed observer to notice the lag between the time it takes for the driver to turn the wheel and the truck’s wheels to react."
Steer by wire with no mechanical backup - ESPECIALLY when the power steering tends to go out - is a menace.
From Jalopnik.

As usual, you change the discussion to suit your narrative. The discussion was regarding AUTONOMOUS ROBOTAXI based on YOUR original comment. So you ignore all the commercial, consumer and municipal challenges that I mentioned regarding ROBOTAXI, and give an anecdote about your narrow FSD experience, as if that’s the conclusive proof that there should be no concerns whatsoever.

Even Musk recently admitted there are significant challenges that would be unacceptable for a ROBOTAXI.

“12.5 and 12.6 are in various stages of testing. We’re getting into rare, complex situations, for example: going down a narrow, one-way road, encountering a road closure and having to reverse out to find a new route. That closure also needs to be communicated to the test of the fleet, so you don’t get a whole bunch of Teslas stuck down a road,” Musk wrote in a post on X.

Based on your comments, it appears you need to be reminded that FSD Supervised is not Autonomous driving.. Sorry you missed that memo.

You seem to forget, I was making the case that robotaxi's will be here in the near future, not a decade or more out. I was using current FSD capabilities to make that case. I was not saying FSD is ready now to operate robotaxis.

This shouldn't be so difficult for you to understand, I think you just want to argue.

Haha, I'm sure the author of that Jalopnik piece has no problem flying on planes for the last several decades that use fly-by-wire, with no mechanical backup. It's not a problem when the system is built with proper redundancies in place. He sounds irrational.

The lag between turning the steering wheel and the wheels actually turning is a red-herring. In order to see this, one has to turn the steering rack faster than is possible with a regular, direct drive steering wheel. The only reason the steering wheel can be slightly ahead of the actual wheels is because of the faster turning speed afforded by steer by wire.

The industry will say really stupid things to try to dissuade people from buying a car from Tesla instead of from their regular clients (legacy auto).
