Look what appeared on the corner of Rush and Chestnut in Chicago. 1 Block from Michigan Avenue and a a block away from Tesla Showroom (that is closing).

Please correct any gaffes, Chicago people. This looks like 871 N. Rush Street ... a couple blocks west of the iconic John Hancock Center (black skyscraper in the background). I checked out Google Maps Street View (and Street View archives, which go back to 2009 at this location). This space appears to have been vacant since 2009 (or earlier).

Prob getting a good deal on real estate. Most stuff in Chicago downtown is closing/leaving. Remember my last trip in mag mile area and it was kinda sad - city does this to itself. We stopped going downtown years ago when lived there, then finally got to move away for good.

Rivian should have went big but in a good burb like Naperville or something... perhaps they will with a new SC out there in time beyond the city one.

Exciting! This is just a few blocks from where I live. This space has been vacant forever. Not where I would have expected Rivian to set up a showroom, but the location makes sense. This area is directly adjacent to all of the luxury shops on Oak St and you’ve got lots of foot traffic from Michigan Ave and the Viagra Triangle as well. Tesla is (for now) a block north and the Bentley/Lamborghini dealer is a block south. And they’ll actually get a ton of eyeballs from all the people who visit the Jeni’s ice cream in the little park across the street. Wonder when they’ll open?

Marble Falls in a nice town!

We are supposed to be getting a store here in Texas (Austin) I believe at the end of the year. It is going to be next to the yeti store downtown.

Chicago Tribune reported today that Rivian's 5160 sq-ft Chicago "Space" at 871 N. Rush St. will open in September. The article stated: "The Chicago showroom will allow customers to test-drive and reserve vehicles ..."
