That is interesting that it came with the buttons. Same as you, I had the powered on my reservation and it came off when they removed it (I added the manual to the order). I also got mine in 12/22 with no buttons. What was your manufacture date? Mine was 11/22?

There is a sticker on the drivers side door that has gross vehicle weight and other info. It is on the top right of that sticker (under the 2D bar code). Mine is 15xxx so pretty close but a little after.

My R1T delivery is scheduled for the end of May. I have this manual tonneau in the "cart" for $1,800. Not sure I'd even pay half that. I am a bit torn...

They committed to the retrofit at zero cost a long, long time ago.

Mine will either be on the truck or in the garage most of the time. Figure most times I'll need it, I'll know before leaving the house and if in doubt I can just throw it in the gear tunnel just in case.

Does anyone have any insight into whether they will offer the manual in the gear-shop? We took a truck early and due to the yanking of accessories at the last minute lost our manual cover accessory during purchase.

The manual will be a option in the future, I will hydro dip my panels to keep the uv from turning it grey.

Somehow I don’t think that new power option is a hard material anymore. They ran from that solution pretty quickly in the video. If you look closely as well they’re no slats anymore as well.

For $800 (at least at pre-March prices) I am more than happy to pay that for the manual version that Rivian engineered. That said, I had NO IDEA they were charging $1,800 now - that seems pretty darn steep. In fact, pretty sure that was the cost for the powered version when I ordered. Wow.

That's right. the power version before the price increase was $1,800. Crazy for a few pieces of plastic covers... if it was a groundbreaking design, then maybe... For example, the Hyundai Santa Fe has a manual cover that is functional and you don't need to take panels off, put it into a case, and then consume space that you brag about... disappointed for sure.
