I have a total of 3 CT reservations. One around 11am the day after the reveal and two more were made about 6-months later.

The early CT flippers are going to do very well with their profit margins.
Agreed. I’m not sure what I will do with mine, until the time comes. Right now I’m ecstatic with my R1T (as compared to my MS Plaid).

Oh we got the sarcasm. it was just ham fisted and unfunny. Can we all go back to talking about how the cyber truck looks like a dumpster on wheels now?
I think the CT looks like a dumpster on wheels - anybody else?

Curious, why make 3 reservations? To simply flip the trucks?

The body panels being integral is a good point. Seems like it would be difficult to maintain structural integrity if that's the case. But 4680's are structural in the Y...perhaps there will be a way to distribute the impact load? That will be really, really interesting to see.

If Tesla does blow it in truck functionality, which I obviously doubt, it will be wide open for GM, Ford, RAM to do some serious EV marketshare damage to Tesla. These takes are very high and I find it incredibly interesting.
CT won't fill all full size pickup needs, but it will also cross over to SUV buyers. I expect a large number of buyers will have never owned a pickup.

I have mixed feeling about the desirability of the back of the vehicle being open (R1T) or closed (R1S). The CT splits the difference.

There is likely more volume behind the second row in the CT with the tonneau closed compared to the R1S with the third row closed. Plus the CT can likely sit three car seats across the second row. So it competes fine as a SUV for many people.

I'm sick of people saying this. There. Is. No. Comparison. Since most dumpsters have professional paint jobs and known specifications, unlike the CT.

You’re right I stand corrected. This comparison is offensive to all the dumpster manufacturers out there.

That could be and I'm sure you're right it will cross over to SUV sales. But I've also seen pics of the rear castings that would prohibit the space from being open from cab to bed. Like this article talks about...I take everything from Telsarati with a grain of salt, but the image is real: https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-cybertruck-single-piece-rear-megacast-first-look-video/

It seems like a miss to me if that is actually the case and there is not easy access, but I suppose it is possible.

Also too, I'm just stuck on the idea that Gigatexas is capable of putting out a million vehicles per year, or at least will be when fully ramped. And it's being expanded. That tells me the CT is going to eventually be a very high volume vehicle designed to compete with the other players in the arena from Ford, RAM, GM. If that's the case, it just seems like it needs to reach beyond a play truck and some SUV conquest sales. Particularly when Tesla already makes two SUV's and could cannibleize their own sales. But then again, maybe TX will just ramp Y's and the CT will be lower volume...that's just not been the narrative from Tesla to date.

I'm not suggesting an actual SUV variant of the Cybertruck. I'm saying the CT can haul a family of three on vacation with a lot of stuff in the back under a closed tonneau. So for some people it will meet the need that might otherwise be met with a larger three row SUV.

The R1S has one more seatbelt than CT, but carries much less cargo when 5/6 people are aboard.

And CT is less likely to have the carseat fit problem of many smaller vehicles, which in many situations reduces the number of people who can realistically be transported legally.

A lot of people would prefer the R1S have the R1T wheelbase.

I doubt there is much cross shopping between the X and the CT.

I wonder if Tesla will ever build an SUV?
