I'm waiting to learn:It’s pure speculation
I'm kinda in that camp of it's so ugly that I want to drive it for a bit anyway. Plus I anticipate the performance being very stout so that will make it fun for awhile. But it may draw too much attention for my tastes as well, so I kind of doubt I'll keep it too long. There's also the possibility that I don't enjoy life without the Tesla SC network. Really it's too soon to tell though. Not sure I talk shit with a lipstick red "adventure vehicle". But make no mistake, the CT is hideous.
Just not sure if I'd prefer to be in a "hideous" truck or a "cute colored" sort of truck.
No. Hope that answers your question. So you think Tesla has some magical ability to buy lithium prices at way below market rate (like 80% off), especially since their long term contracts have basically run out?
That sounds like Tesla/Elon hopium.
the drive is 1/4 mile long, but sure go ahead and be an asshole to me. Not everyone defines a work truck as an urban Home Depot runner. I am asking serious questions about its capabilities. The shortcomings of the R1T as a work truck (for the work I need to accomplish) is why I switched to the R1S and kept by F-150 for "work"You can plow you driveway. Who the hell has a lipstick red truck? Mine is Red Canyon which is way closer to sunset orange than it is that shade of red. You've clearly never seen one in person because almost everyone who has agrees the truck is way more orange in person than photos. Not sure I talk shit with a lipstick red "adventure vehicle". Yeah...so I was right.the drive is 1/4 mile long, but sure go ahead and be an asshole to me. Not everyone defines a work truck as an urban Home Depot runner. If one imagined a type of car Andrew Tate would drive, this would probably be it.
I will also assume that people who drive the cybertruck are secretly Andrew Tate wannabes
it does look like a TaintMobile doesn't it...
Ball busting and smart ass commentary aside, I am interested in it for the same reason you are as replacement fleet trucks. There is something alluring about a truck that can't be run low on oil or driven beyond its fluid service intervals.cool. I can't wait to plow my driveways and farm yard with it.
Your masculinity isn't nearly as "un fragile" as you think. I guess the fact that I drive a pretty truck means we are both super secure then. Cool.Who the hell has a lipstick red truck? You've clearly never seen one in person because almost everyone who has agrees the truck is way more orange in person than photos.
But I'd much rather have a "cute colored" with a nice happy face up front than a shapeless brick of shit that looks like a rolling dumpster on wheels. Not all of us have such fragile masculinity that we are threatened by a truck that doesn't look like a hyper masculine bro dozer or a dumpster on wheels, tech noir shitbox.
I'm sure you're aware it's too soon to speculate on any of that. But I will speculate that it'll be quite some (measured in years not months) time before there's a plow mount. And I'm pretty confident it's designed to compete against 1/2 ton trucks so I have my doubts about a 3rd wheel too. I know some folks are ok with a third wheel in a half-ton, but by far that crowd uses 3/4 ton and up.I'm waiting to learn:
what will it tow?
handle a snow plow?
handle a third wheel?
range?
how with the vault cover operate? will there be clearance for loading the box with a bobcat?
the way people talk about the CT it almost sounds it could substitute for a F250 which would make it a lot more interesting to me. It is frustrating, however, that real numbers are not available even though it is supposedly getting delivered this year. But I do think it'll be really interesting to see what develops and how the aftermarket addresses these topics, and others. This is the first time a manufacturer is making a completely new type of vehicle that needs to address so many purposes to have actual truck-like usability and function. Realistically it's just a matter of time. If the CT cannot address true truck functionality then after the early buyers fizzle out it'll be a tough road for it. I wouldn't sell that F150 for awhile yet!
I'm not the one comparing shades of red to determine if they are masculine enough, but you do you.Your masculinity isn't nearly as "un fragile" as you think. I guess the fact that I drive a pretty truck means we are both super secure then. Cool.
Yeah, there's basically no info out there other than it'll be built in TX and purportedly use 4680's and the stainless steel construction. Tesla is notorious for keeping everything so close to their vest. One example is the refreshed model S...that car is hugely different than the car it replaced, yet because it looks so similar people think it's the same. But we're talking suspension, body, battery updates, interior and motors are new. It's the same level of new as a 992 Porsche 911 is vs a 991 911 actually more.the way people talk about the CT it almost sounds it could substitute for a F250 which would make it a lot more interesting to me. It is frustrating, however, that real numbers are not available even though it is supposedly getting delivered this year.
Thanks. Will do. Tell us more about how you feel about the CT?I'm not the one comparing shades of red to determine if they are masculine enough, but you do you.
Can't imagine it approaches 3/4 ton territory with regards plowing or towing.the way people talk about the CT it almost sounds it could substitute for a F250 which would make it a lot more interesting to me.
