do the wheels matter to you? 20s if youre going to be doing offroading. possibly 21s if little or no offroading, but also have to factor in the 21s are a custom size tire meaning, its 1of 1 in the world so you wont have as many options in the short term.

LG is also launch edition while it sounds like the Limestone is Adventure trim, in case that matters to you.

any other difference in the trucks? spare tire? underbody shield?
no other difference...but does launch edition differ from adventure that much?

Not much, wheels and I think a label in a few places saying launch edition.

Are you trading in at all? If you are, you may have tax incentives to trade into the dealer that you won't get private party.

If you don't care about color, get the Limestone truck. It is $5000 cheaper and is essentially brand new. The FG already has 6500 miles of someone else's sweat and farts.

Transpo will be somewhere around $1500-2500 depending on whether it's open or closed transport. Its very easy to set up.

The only other issue is wheels (assuming all other specs are the same) and it's up to you whether or not you want range or AT wheels.

There's no advantage to buying from a dealer or private party. The dealer doesn't represent Rivian.

Launch edition doesn't make it special or add any extra value for resale.

(For what it's worth I have an LG/FE from the 45xx batch and the only issue is the broken tonneau which will break on all early trucks. )
I have never bought a vehicle from an individual and im just worried about the security portion...so if i pay this guy off full and he just doesnt send me the car or title im just kinda screwed no?

one of my biggest concerns are the safety of payment and transfer of vehicle and title...i have never done a deal like this and im just not sure what kind of recourse I have if he doesnt send the truck or title.

Not if you have a a signed agreement and you have all the usual proof of who the person is, etc.

The seller has to create a bill of sale that you both sign and sign over the title. Does the seller have the "title in hand"? If not, you will have to get that from the seller/Rivian after the seller has paid off the loan.

Talk to the seller and express your concerns about the transaction and decide if you are comfortable with it, but I've bought and sold cars from all over the place and it's not unusual to do an out of state private party sale. Happens every day thousands of times.

If you have the time, fly out there and see the car before you hand over the briefcase full of cash or cashier's check. He probably has a bank lien on it so you would be paying his bank or your bank pays his bank and he gets any overage. Talk to the owner. Does everything check out? Remember it's an "adventure" vehicle.

ok thanks...yes I will get all the info and copy of license to make sure everyone is who they say they are...and no he does not have title in hand and will have to pay off loan which i will probably send payment directly to pay off the loan.

hopefully everything goes well
