My guide has told me it’s okay to wait to do insurance until I get the call from the SC around scheduling the delivery. Same with payment. There didn’t seem to be a big concern that every single step had to be done prior to having a more solid delivery date.

I was most recently told my truck is expected at the service center on 8/5 and will be contacted by the SC around that time. So just holding out hope that stays true.

yeah I was told the same thing. I’ve also read lots of peoples trucks have arrived and they didn’t have their steps completed but it wasn’t an issue.

Did any of you guys waiting for your truck to come by train get any updates? My truck has been on the same train for 2 and half weeks, haven’t heard anything. Waiting in Bay Area

My Guide reiterated that she expected my truck at the Costa Mesa service center on Friday.

Nothing else.

Are you sure it is in fact still on the same rail line? As I have previously mentioned rail shipping of cars is very slow. For grins Google rail shipping of cars to get a perspective.

Your truck is on it’s way! Safely Tucked into a railcar for each leg of it’s journey.

I think my truck is on an Amtrak taking in the sites, scoping out some National Parks for us to return to

Want to share the timeline of railway transit: Vin assigned on 7/14 and truck loaded on train around 7/22 according to my guide. Today my guide texted me that my r1t should be delivered to SC (Seattle) second week of Aug. Hope this is accurate!

My guide told me again today that they expect my truck to arrive at the SSF service center next week. They will then do an inspection and reach out about delivery.

You're going to be shocked, my VIN is in the low 6### range. Idk how I got a 6### and have it manufactured only last Friday.
I just got a vin two days ago and it’s in low 6s.

From my experience 8 weeks seems about right for rail car delivery to the west coast.

Rail shipping is slow and can get complicated depending on the number rail lines involved. Once the vehicle is in the hands of the railroad Rivian loses all control.
2 months???? Whaaaaattttt?

Thanks for letting me know. Did you ask why? Just curious if your guide will say the same thing mine did.
To be honest I didnt ask and not worried. I have seen many ask on here and get a generic response so not bothering him. I am wondering if it was built then waited for the last few parts to finish it. The 20s had most recent delay so could of been waiting for them.

That is my experience with rail shipping and was the same for most of the folks on the Mach-e forum. Additionally the crap Ford dealership repeatedly told me that it usually takes months to get any vehicle delivered to them once it leaves the manufacturing plant.

Hopefully my experience with rail/Ford/dealership was unique and worst case.
