Oh Boy lol I havent heard from Rivian for a few weeks now with the exception of generic emails, the past few emails seemed me and several other folks have been left off (not sure if they were targeted or generic). Someone from 22 and a OC interior should not be getting anything imho but here we are lol.

I got this email the day before a follow up email to schedule a call with my guide. To see if you have a guide assigned, go into your account, and then select “ contact us”. If your guide is assigned, it should show their name as an option (the other option is to call customer service

I think I am done with Rivian. As if the delivery skipping isn't frustrating enough, look at all the problems with build quality and the 12v bricking issues. I'm beginning to think this company is not ready for prime-time.

Do you really think the level of issues in the first 5000 vehicles is indicative of their ability to correct that over the long term? Were you alive and aware of the number and types of issues Tesla had with their first batches of vehicles? They've had worse quality defects continue well past hundreds and hundreds of thousands of EVs sold, yet they're doing just fine.

I think Rivian is doing a great job of dealing with issues as they pop up, including recalls for affected vehicles and proactively fixing those issues for others in production. Most owners I've seen have raved about the build quality, including media reviewers.

Heard about any windshields flying off R1T's lately? Yea, me neither ;)

Frame of reference: My LR Defender has rattles and squeeks from day 1 that it should not have. It's had 5 recalls issued in 2022 alone. Nobody thinks LR is going out of business anytime soon. Rivian is, at least anecdotally, performing well past that benchmark only 5 months after starting production.

Yeah, I think people are overreacting to the few posts we've seen about problems with owners' new vehicles. Lots of new vehicles from well established manufacturers have tons of problems. Shoot, look at the new Ford Bronco. It's been a mess. It's just magnified due to this being a new company. However, having some early production issues is very, very normal. Only be concerned if they cannot (or will not) address them.

Really? As an early reservation holder/early adopter, this is what you signed up for.

As someone said above, look at what Tesla went through. I'd say Rivian is a lot better because Tesla and some others paved the way. Things won't be perfect for a number of years. Manufacturers like Ford have been building cars for 150 years. Rivian is completely new. It isn't just the physical building of vehicles. The entire infrastructure has to be built from scratch. Vendor partnerships built. Who's supplying the aluminum? Who's supplying the bolts? What service provider are you using to build your MPLS cloud networks?

Although, if you're really upset, cancel your order so others can move up in line. Or take the risk and be part of something new and exciting.

I think people were eager to get in line when it was a refundable deposit some with expectations that were apparently too high. Being an early adopter for a new product, especially something as complex as this, can be challenging. I think many folks incorrectly assumed that since Tesla did it everyone after would be better. The very fact these vehicles are being painted inside and not in tents outside is already an improvement over Tesla.

What you are saying is true. Rivian has already accomplished much more than many other startups and they probably end up being a successful company with great products and services. but I think his concerns are legitimate. There are other companies that are not start ups (however new to EVs) that may not be as risky to own. Rivian has designed a car that leaks a lot of power and is delivering it this way stating it is normal. There is an owner that his new R1T 12V battery died and had to pay $600 "because he let it die" (probably because of the leak). I understand bolts and screws lose or missing is a process issue that can get fixed but difference of opinion between the owners and the company on what is acceptable could be a problem. When that happens before purchase (like price-gate) we have a recourse but once you drop that $80K, Rivian owns you. I don't blame him at all for having second thoughts. Purchasing an R1 is risky business and each of of us have a different risk tolerance.

I have a Tesla and I’m no rivian fan boy . I don’t find any of ur frustrations surprising, it is all expected . It’s okay to vent but don’t make the mistake of canceling ur pre price hike reservation man .
