MA - $7,500 MOR-EV Truck Incentive

The R1T may qualify for an addition $7,500 rebate in Massachusetts as part of the MOR-EV Trucks program. Meaning potentially $15,000 off when you factor in the full Fed rebate (Also $7,500). The R1T is so heavy it falls into the 2b vehicle class, which is 8,500 - 10,000 lbs and the R1T is 8,532lbs (juuuust heavy enough) which theoretically makes it eligible for the $7,500 rebate. I don't think they necessarily had the R1T in mind when this program was created, but at the same time every EV is one less ICE so "its fine"?

I'm awaiting my R1S and I'll admit I'm jealous, the R1S is almost certain to fall in the gap between the regular MOR-EV program which caps out at $50k purchase price and not heavy enough for this Truck program. Is there an official number on the R1S GVWR? I imagine lighter as its not as long as the R1T, and will naturally be less. I know some R1S preorder holders have been contacted by guides, so if there is no firm number now, shouldn't be much longer to wait now.

Anyways, to you R1T folks in Mass, you should definitely look into this and make that preorder pricing, fed rebate and potentially this rebate takes an already great deal into absurdly good deal territory.

Looking at the site, there are 198 spots left at block 1. Once those are used up, the rebate at block 2 is about $6,300, then it steps down further. I have no idea how many total spots there are in each block overall. So now I have to hope I'm one of the next 198 Rivian's delivered in MA. My estimated delivery is Jul-Sept, so it's possible.

Pre Covid I would have taken delivery in MA but now likely in SC, where the view of that possible MA rebate looks like a sales/excise tax offset…

Took delivery last week and have tried reaching out to MOR-EV to submit an application but they have been unresponsive. The application is different from the main program.

No, I don't believe so as its over the $50k price limit for the $2500 incentive.

The R1S manual was just released and this seems like a find and replace error from the R1T, but the R1S is listed at the exact same 8,532 lbs for GVWR. I imagine they will fix this before I get my R1S with my Q4 delivery estimate, but maybe there is a chance??

FYI, I contacted MOR-EV Trucks a while back. They don’t approve or reject any vehicle for the mor-ev trucks rebate until you formally apply. However, they did say that they did approve previous applications for the R1T so it seems likely we will get the $7500.
You cannot apply until after you take delivery.
It took a few weeks to get a response once you fill out the web form. Hold on and you should get a response. They have been at 198 remaining rebates in block one for a while

it did take a few weeks to get a response and when I did get a response they requested documentation. I had To reach out to my guide to get manufacture certificate of origin as it was the only doc that include the GVWR.

i sent everything I had over to MOR-EV Trucks and the confirmed they received it but haven’t heard anything else in a few weeks.

This is one of the reasons I'm super anxious to get my friggen guide assignment already! I'd love that tax rebate, although I guess once Block 1 is gone, Block 2's rebate amount is still decent enough. Still have no idea how many spots there are in each block, though.

Nice!! I half expected them to deny it based on "this was not the intent of this program" or something along those lines. Glad it actually worked out!
