Saves room in the gear tunnel for chairs and coolers. Towing from Patriot Pits in the Berkshires of Massachusetts wasn't too painful in terms of efficiency. Pretty sure it was close to 2 on the way back to Boston.
I haven’t tried that yet, I meant warming the cabin. I have an unheated garage, so getting into a 70 degree truck extends range if it warms off the house electric.
Driving from Northboro MA to Sugarbush (~210 miles) the only time I didn’t make it on one charge the temps were below 0 and we kept the heat rolling. 15 minutes at the EA chargers in Lebanon was enough on 20’s. I think our efficiency was around 1.7 until I realized we wouldn’t make it, then...
I just registered as well. What are our options to schedule charging to start after 9pm, without remembering to walk out to the garage before bed? I don't see a way to start/schedule charging from the Rivian app and don't remember what's in the truck menus.
Picking up my RC/BM 21” R1T on Tuesday. I switched from the max pack and 20’s about a month ago, emailed cs to see if I’d be included in the re-run delivery algorithm, was promised an email by end of summer, and BAM. Your Rivian is ready for delivery. (April 2021 res)
I want to get the 21’s...
This is great. Thank you for finding and posting. Obviously not an ideal pic in the rain, but on first impressions I think I prefer the glossy look. Now I can save $$ on the full wrap and just get the front once it's offered.
When I lived in Seattle we always traveled with chains and used them several times a year going skiing. The wet snow was super slick and you’d need them to get uphill. I’m VT, I never see chains and I need my snows most when going down on ice. Not sure chains would help a ton there but who knows.
What do you plan to do with snow? I agree the 21s will handle light off-road and the extra range is great. But driving down the gap in a 7,000 truck without snow tires scares me in the winter.
I appreciate what felt like an authentic take on his top nags after living with it. Nitpicky (autoleveling) or major (service timelines), these are the things that eat at you and are good to know. When I look back at prior vehicles, what bothered me most were often minor things that built up...
I talked to one of the service center guys on Tuesday and asked about a first drive event in Boston. He suggested I watch online for an announcement. His reaction was surprisingly positive. I’ve had my expectations managed before, and this wasn’t that.
Nothing in my Rivian account for a drive...
Good to know. We have several friends who switched one car to VT green plates during 2020 so they took less flack from people for coming up to their homes/condos during the most restrictive parts of the pandemic. I’d also bet the local MA police would notice your R1T around town to enforce that...
