I'll report back when my R1S arrives, but I have two Diono Radian 3RXT's and while I anticipate putting them in the 2nd row, I'll certainly try them in the 3rd row as well to let folks know how it goes.

Not me. I’m doing a new creative financing option where I pay a small amount of money (roughly $1000) to say that I’m getting an R1S but Rivian never actually manufactures the vehicle and therefore I can’t “own” it. It’s really neat. You should try it.

I'll let you know about how our boosters work in the second and third row, when delivery happens. No ETA as yet, but order is locked. could be weeks or months...

The second row has the two (R and L sides, not middle) latch system attachment points, but not the third. Can't recall where I read that, or if it's final.

My wife (relatively petite) fit between my two kids in boosters with armrests just fine during or R1T test drive. But since nobody's seen the R1S 2nd row move, hard to know whether you can fold with the car seats attached. Hopefully yes, as that'd be a pain to remove every time you use the third row.

It does not look like there would be room for a third carseat in the middle position in that photo.

Is the R1S 2nd row narrower than the R1T? Or did they make that claim about three car seats without testing the CEOs carseats?

I'm really hoping the functionality of the 2nd row seats allows for them to tilt forward with car seats installed to access the 3rd row. I have this functionality in my VW Atlas and with 4 kids (our newest is 3 weeks old) it is suddenly an absolute necessity.

I met RJ back at the Atlanta owners event in fall 2019. We chatted about our kids (he has 3, I have 4) and current rides (we both had a Pacifica Hybrid as the family hauler). He specifically told me that the only design input his wife has ever given him is that 3 car seats had to fit side by side by side in the 2nd row. 3rd row was too hard to get to if you had to bucket kids in, etc. Hope this helps!

With R1S deliveries starting, it would be great if anyone of the lucky new owners with Dionos could confirm if you can put one in 2D, one in 2C and still access the third row via 2P. Pictures of front row seat clearances with a Diono rear facing in 2C would also be great.

I'd really like to know how 2nd row car seats affect 3rd row access. VW Atlas had excellent 2nd row seat movement to allow easy 3rd row access. However, my new Volvo XC90 is awful. One of my older kids has to climb through the back hatch to access the 3rd row, and I really hope I don't have to do that in the R1S.
