I had six varied issues for the Bellevue SC to tackle, ranging from half shafts to dirt under paint. Dropped it off this morning, 11/17

Positives:

Unlike Tesla, a human was always easily had throughout the process.

Ryan greeted me at the door and they had food on the table for customers.

All issues were correctly logged and reflected in the SC SOW - when I reviewed it at the SC this morning. Also, I had requested and received an electric loaner (Hold the ICE, please)

Ryan walked the car to review the issues and told me exactly what would and wouldn’t happen on each.

Was told the truck would be ready tomorrow morning, and received a confirmation call this evening that they were finishing up over night and it would be ready as expected

Zero pushback on any complaints, and they didn’t do the Tesla “Within Spec” or “Normal” dance. Zero aggregation.

Was in and out quickly, and given a brand new, with manufacturer plates, Compass Yellow R1T (see attached)

Many SC employees, including Ryan, came from Tesla Bellevue, so they are not noobs to EV service.

Negatives

Nothing to complain about (Smile)

Can’t accurately post my “go to” Tesla Within Spec meme.

Part 2 will reflect Re delivery experience and satisfaction with work performed!

You can use your service center’s competence as an excuse to shame Tesla and rightly share the meme.

Yes, “Seal of approval,” for sure!

Great to see some positive vibes here. Mine’s [still] in this week for a few issues but so far a similar positive experience.

Great to see a compass yellow loaner making the rounds!

See you this morning! Look for the panther plate ?
I plan to arrive between 8-9am, assuming Ryan gives me the green light at 7:30am!

May I suggest a better meetup location? ?

If I'm lucky I'll get mine back today. I can't ping it from the app so it's under a deep sleep as they work on the last issue. It's been there nine days, though they gave me the option of getting it back sooner if I didn't need all issues examined in one go. I like that they prefer to be thorough. No loaner truck for me though ?⛽?

My chat with a service center rep indicated that they have much better throughput on Thursdays and Fridays with additional technicians on hand for the trickier issues. I'll post an update when all is done.

Overall A+ communication from Rivian, and it's been super easy to call into the main service line to get updates and provide additional details to the SC to assist their efforts to reproduce problems. Not all that different from my experience with Tesla in 2015, and extremely different from my experience with Tesla in 2022.

No kidding, re Telsa experience. It got noticeably worse, from bad, when “Maddy” left last year!

Interior of the Tonka is Forest Edge. Like that a lot as well. Maybe more than my MB…

Side note: The loaner is SN 11xxx and seems to have a much more responsive throttle map than my 99xx; even at grandma driving speeds. Also, the console charging pad is now rubberized so stuff doesn’t slide around, like it does on mine. SC ordered me a new pad and will install via a mobile visit.

Actually, I like it a lot! Reminds me of my childhood days with Tonka dump trucks!
I keep considering changing between three choices El Cap, White, and Compass Yellow. I know it's polarizing, but I think they did a great job nailing down the colour. Also, as you said, very Tonka like which is awesome.

Do you mind providing a picture of the updated charging pad?

funny, I must have seen you, or someone from the SC testing your car. I work very close to the Bellevue SC and went out fora quick walk at some point during the day, coming across a compass yellow driving out of the SC. I thought “man that is a cool looking car!”
