Towed a large AC unit from North Hollywood to Ontario California.
Total trailer weight 5,500Lb. AC Unit 4,400Lb. + Trailer 1,100LB.
Distance 50 Mil. From 11041 Vanowen St, North Hollywood, CA 91605 to 2140 South Parco Ave., Ontario CA 91607
Power consumption 30 KW. 0.6KW/Mil My usual consumption 0.43KW/Mil
Drive mode Conserve. Drive position Low.

No current picture or video.... operator mistake

Towed in conserve mode? Highway miles or city mostly? What size rims?

I’d be careful about towing in conserve mode. That would be putting a lot of unnecessary stress on the front motors.

Did you get a warning on the main screen when hooking the trailer up? Curious how consistent that is. It pops up every time I hook up my ~ 4500 boat/trailer.

Every time you connect the trailer plug it will pop up.

I don't like to select towing mode as it locks the hight of the truck

Without that you have no trailer brakes though. Towing 5000lbs you should have brakes and in most states are legally required to have brakes.

Towed a John Deere Tractor 104 miles round trip. It towed great. I had 30 miles of range left.

I'm so confused. You hooked up and towed in Conserve somehow. What was your mi/kw since that's what's displayable on screen? I tow my 5500lb boat and trailer and get 1.1 to 1.2 mi/kw.

+1 for the "Don't tow in Conserve". If nothing else, the power the R1s have on tap while towing is a huge benefit in a variety of ways. Running in Conserve is arbitrarily cutting half your available power for basically no gain. I wouldn't expect Conserve to improve efficiency much when towing, though I don't know that I've seen anyone do testing to validate that. Also missing out on any of the beneficial software stuff from Towing mode. And as others have said, excess wear on front motors and tires should be a concern.

I prefer to tow in All Purposes so I can control the hight of the truck. Also, I get better Regen power back to the battery pack. Overall I did 1.6 mil/kwh

Which makes sense. a trailer should be kept level.
