While the Rivian electric adventure vehicle can propel a person from 0 to 60 in under three seconds, can drive through 3 foot deep water and tow up to 11,000 pounds. It also possesses another far more impressive quality, a quality that can propel a person from apathy to possibility in just about the same time. That quality is called inspiration.
After seeing this truck with all it’s unique features and watching some videos online I was inspired to do...something. I can’t tell you why but I just kept thinking about it. But what? The videos online were promotional in nature and the footage was...nice. So I put my 20+ years experience as an advertising creative to work.
In my free time I came up with an idea, did some research, chose a music track that I thought would resonate with what I thought the target for this truck would be, wrote some copy and started editing.
After seeing the video, the good people at INSIDEEVs were inspired enough by it to pick it up and write an entire article about it. That in turn, inspired numerous people to start a conversation.
Which in turn inspired me to share this story with you.
In a culture obsessed with measuring talent and ability, we often overlook the potency of inspiration, and its potential impact on everything we do.
