If this is to be a fun, outdoor, off-roading SUV, an open back section would be nice option (I think). It will be like the 4Runners of the past (and some back country fabrications).
I guess it's not an option because the market research says it's not profitable. If not, at least make it easy for buyers to modify their vehicles. I hope you're not trying to sell "mall crawlers".
