Fairly new to the EV world. Picked up a few things from friends and co-workers that have PHEVs and BEVs. Eager to learn more, hence joining EV forums. Targeting 2020 for first EV, assuming I can wait that long. ;)

Looking at the glass as half full ... Since Rivian has a target release date no earlier than late 2020 that gives me time to learn more, prepare, save some money, and who knows, maybe even buy an inexpensive/used EV in the mean time. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum @Spoonito ! Are you eyeing up to purchase either of the two Rivian EVs?

@EyeOnRivian, in regards to your original post about if anyone had any suggestions on cheap EVs in the meantime... I love my little Chevy Spark. Granted it's a giant rollerskate, but it has 330lb-ft of torque, 117mpge and even though it is supposed to get 82 miles to a charge, I've managed 120+ multiple times between charges. I scooped up my 2016 2LT for just over $10k. It had 13,000 on the ticker. Previous lease. Big selling point was it's ability to DCFC as it has a CCS plug. Charges to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

Checking in from the Chicago area! Put a deposit for the R1S and would be our first EV.
