Mach E is a CUV, aiming at Tesla Model Y as competition

No, this one (and the F150) are Ford's alone.

If memory serves it’s a Lincoln that will be on Rivian skateboard.

With both this and the Tesla truck coming to light in November, will be interesting to see how their pricing slots into the Rivian mix.

Different price segment for the Mach E which will be a smaller and less luxurious vehicle than the R1S. It's supposed to cost about $40k (before federal and local tax credits).

$40K? I was definitely expecting more than that...do you have a source for that info?

I want a Rivian, but that starting price will make the market interesting.

That’s kind of my point - a 40k ford might be enough for a lot of us versus a 70/80/90k Rivian.

Can we expect a Tesla like sales model where the 1st model available will be the $60K version? More BEVs in the market the better. I do assume they will be losing money in the beginning

Tesla did that to minimize losses and also because they knew they would have to ramp up production. Supposedly, Ford can build them as fast as they want so it may not matter for Ford.
