Not in TX, don't know about other states.Wouldn't you be doubling your state taxes if you purchased from out of state?
The EA stations have both 150 and 350 kW chargers. We don't know at this point what the capabilities of the Rivian will be, but almost certainly 100kW+, and possibly in the 300 kW range.50kw would be slow to charge a 135 or 180 battery. In my sons model 3 going from 120 to 150 saves about 10-15 minutes in charging.
Rivian stated charging rate is 160kWThe EA stations have both 150 and 350 kW chargers. We don't know at this point what the capabilities of the Rivian will be, but almost certainly 100kW+, and possibly in the 300 kW range.
Rivan filed for a patent to allow their batteries to switch between charging modules in parallel or series. This would allow for taking advantage of the 350kW chargers to double the rate. Amperage is usually the limiting factor that determine the "useable" kW from a DCFC station, and the EA stations are 375 amps. If the Rivian packs are 400V, the charge rate would be 150kW. Charging in series could double that to 300kW.

Amtrak Empire Builder (Roomette Service) is the train we took most of the way from Washington State to New York for the Rivian EVent. What a great way to travel! Seating for dinner is European so you always are seated with others. We met a couple from Normal, IL and they told us all about the Rivian factory and how it has impacted the local community. We would likely take the train to Normal then drive home. We hope Rivian transacts business like Tesla which is all electronic. The only document that was physical in our Tesla purchase was the vehicle registration application, Washington requires an actual signature on that so it was FedEx'd from Tesla to me then to the State DMV.My thought is to board AMTK #8 the Empire Builder and relax in a sleeper between Whitefish, MT to the Chicago, Il. There I can check in with Rivian to see what they have set up for lodging, meals and transportation. There will be sales papers and registration policies to finalize.
Next is to drive north to Duluth to visit with a longtime friend. Highway 2 is the most direct route to Montana but look at the thousands of miles of roads crossing Wisconsin, both Dakotas and eastern Montana lacking charging stations. If no infrastructure is added in the next couple of years I may be buying a team of horses a couple of hundred miles west of Duluth to tow my Rivian home. Alternatively, I could tow a trailer loaded with a diesel generator to run full time to charge the R1T.
