Update / more info by @LivingInKaos

Tesla opened Plug&Charge today at 5pm. They have not activated the Rivian side in the Tesla app yet, and neither has Rivian kicked them on in the nav. Coming soon.

And now I see it is turned off .... Good times.

Hearing this is temporary for testing and initiated through the Tesla app. Gotta mean the real thing is very close though. I'm betting by Monday.

I'm glad to hear that the Tesla SC's are even kind of working.

Apparently you have to list your vehicle as a Ford in the Tesla app to make it work.
I thought that loophole got closed pretty quickly.

I wonder if listing it as a Ford in the app affects the charging curve based on a different battery profile… ?

That information comes from the vehicle real time through the non-DC pins on the charging cable.

Saw a post on Facebook regarding non-magic dock supercharging working on a Rivian. Then I saw a video posted by RivianTrackr for the same topic. Looks like those who have a Ford NACS adapter, or a 3rd party adapter can use some Tesla superchargers.

Sounds like the speculation is Rivian will make an announcement in a week or two, and may also be waiting for a Tesla app update to reflect available chargers, when filtering for R1T/R1S + NACS adapter.

Notes from RivianTrackr’s video:
  • Plug & Charge not working yet
  • Navigation doesn’t list available chargers yet
  • You must initiate on Tesla app using a Ford vehicle (Mach-e or Lightning)
