Thanks for sharing! The video was pretty cool, and I really enjoyed seeing those drone shots as you guys were driving around. There were some parts that made my heart rate go up, like navigating around those large boulders… glad you guys didn’t scrape the side of your trucks!

I didn’t realize that they had those caves at Anza Borrego. I’d love to check those out sometime, but I don’t think I have the cajones to drive through that route.

Super adventure story. Thank you for sharing this. I felt like I was there. The drone photography was outstanding.

Good news, if you want to visit the caves you can actually come in a different way and it's basically a glorified dirt road. I saw someone out there in a Camry.

Awesome video. What was your charging / Range situation? I've been wanting to explore Anza for a while, but wasn't sure where to charge up before entering the park.

Depends where you are coming in from. I pass by Ramona so I top off there at the EVgo. Hopefully in a few months the supercharger in Julian opens up for us as that would shave off another ~40 miles on the round trip, giving more range for more shenanigans. I was able to make it home, but had I needed to use that charger on the return route I would have got there about 20% iirc.

Great video and drone work. I love AB for play and exploring. Curious on what pressure put tires at for offroading

I have these set to ~30PSI. On a big sale right now: https://amzn.to/3RedBES
Then depending where I am I will drop lower if needed. I went to about 27 for this trip.

Nice video. Not a fan of filming yourself going up Diablo Dropoff 'because it's more fun" that way. It's a designated one way trail going down.

Why ignore rules that are intended to preserve the trail for everyone else?

I don't believe thats true, please link me somewhere that says otherwise. My understanding is that its recommended one way during when its busy, because the lower part of the trail is a long, one lane canyon.

Do you have a map of the route you guys took vs the other road?

What are the rules? Was the linked supposed to have any rules (maybe I missed it)

Just wondering as a trip maybe in the cards for me in 2024.

Is dispersed camping allowed in this area?

The map has a one way arrow marking Diablo Dropoff (only other one way in the park is Pinyon Dropoff after the squeeze)

Dispersed camping is totally allowed and encouraged! Just have to stay within a truck length of a marked trail.

For rules and regulations, recommend:
