Official: Rivian IPO priced at $78 per share (@ $77 billion valuation)!

All this discussion about short term gains or losses, tax exposure, and "backdoor" strategies....Geez. Its exhausting. Purchasing shares in a company is an investment. Investment strategy is an oxymoron. Buy and hold for long term and only take cash out when growth goals shift to...

Official: Rivian IPO priced at $78 per share (@ $77 billion valuation)!

Rivian Stock Purchased showed up on my MS account as a negative balance just like the CSR said. I need to transfer "alittle" more into the account to cover since I was expecting the IPO to be priced around $70/share. With 5 days to do that there's plenty of time. Once this is done I won't...

Official: Rivian IPO priced at $78 per share (@ $77 billion valuation)!

Just got off the Phone with CSR at MS. Here's the deal. After they receive confirmation the shares will be put in your MS account with a negative cash balance. Once the funds are there within time frame the funds will be automatically deducted and the shares become yours. So basically we...

Did you really buy the shares or just confirm your interest? If you purchased how did you do it since there seems to be no link on the DSP confirmation page or on MS online

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

Its safe to say the CS folks are not in the room when these decision are being made. They are told what to say depending on leadership's assessment at the time. With many situations that are "fluid" the truth changes. Going back to the point of this poll and threat is that most folks are...

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

With over 170 votes tallied...The data presents a pretty clear picture of consumer sentiment. I specifically did not say "Customer" sentiment because there's no way of knowing if every voter is also a position holder. With that Caveat... 3/4 (74.7%) of respondents don't see production delays...

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

Capitalism at its finest! Nothing more American than voting with your feet if a company doesn't meet your needs or expectations.

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

Good point...I tried to separate the communications issues from the delivery issues, but they are intertwined. It was nice to see RJ acknowledge the communications problems in his note. Hopefully that'll improve. Time will tell...

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

Probably like many car buyers, I don't "need" the Rivian, today, next month or even next year. I'm happy to continue to drive the cars I have now until its ready. So while I can't image the delays will be more than a few months, I'd be perfectly happy waiting a year or more.

The speed of "right". Does anyone really care when deliveries start?

When it comes to taking delivery of a new product, especially as one as complicated as a vehicle with all kinds of tech, I'm happy to let Rivian proceed at the "Speed of Right". Yes it would be nice to have my new Rivian sooner vs later but I'm happy to wait. What does everyone else think?

    The Rivian Demographic??

No arguments, but pointing out the exception isn't the rule. The thread it titled the Rivian Demographic and "smart" marketing departments go after their core customer with a message that resonates, and doesn't waist much time with outliers.

    The Rivian Demographic??

Its no secret who's going to buy the Rivian. Look at the types of people that have Range Rovers, Merc SUV's or top of the line Ford and GM "luxury" trucks/SUV's. All the "youth oriented" outdoor adventure stuff is mostly marketing hype. Anyone with the coin to shell out $90-100K for a...
