Guide assigned for my max pack quad preorder.. does it mean anything?

Perspective: I was a Feb 2020 max pack preorder holder. I got a guide in July of 2022. That max quad is still 8 months at least out, but had I stayed with it, I would have had a guide for 1.5 years before my truck. I switched to large in November and have my truck now.

ABRP says go through Canada to avoid midwest/rockies states

Non-Tesla charging is that bad in the Dakotas. Up until this month, Montana was also barely possible. We are still not sure if we can use our truck this summer for our big trip from WA to WI.

Who’s planning a trip through MT/SD along I90 next summer?

I want to hit 94 route, but this definitely makes the 90 route much more possible. Hereā€™s to hoping!! šŸ¤ž

Shout Out to a Job Well Done

Shout out to my guide Sean. I picked up my truck on 12/22/22. At the delivery center I noted a few things that needed to be adjusted. The bottom runner on the passenger side was wonky. I donā€™t care about the appearance but envisioned one tenacious branch during off-roading ripping that whole...

    COMPASS YELLOW R1T Photos

Hello R1Twin! Yes it is black mountain. Everyone who looked at us funny when we told them our truck would be yellow has said they really like this color combo. Carry on #TeamYellow!

Rivian R1T bed cap - any options?

Iā€™ve been hoping for one and put it on my guideā€™s radar 6 months ago. They said it was a good idea, but still nothing available from Rivian or other companies who make them that I have found.

Rivian Build Quality Is Getting Worse As They Ramp Up Production For R1T/R1S

Vin 15.7XX picked up Dec. 22. It had some funky alignment on the lower passenger side runners? (black plasticy stuff at bottom of the doors) and the center console passenger side wasnā€™t snapped in properly. The Camp speaker also wonā€™t unlock. You hit the unlock button in the software and it just...

Sub-Zero Extreme Cold Drive – R1T’s Range Hit Pretty Hard

This is good information. The problem is not only an EV problem. We lived in far Northern WI for 20 years. We had temps never above 0 for two months of the year frequently. Gas cars also struggle, lose crazy gas mileage, struggle to keep us warm, and have many weird issues. It is a cold...

Anyone prefer a third party bed cover tonneau / canopy?

It would be nice if Rivian could get this information to these companies more quickly. I would love a topper from any of these major companies. I asked my guide about it and he said the folks he chatted with at Rivian were interested in the idea of a topper. Now they need to step up and get the...

RAN cannot come soon enough - let down by EA again

Iā€™m curious how the RAN network coming online and supercharging network being opened up will impact the EA, EVgo, ChargePoint reliability issues and choice of power output (still putting in 50 kWh rather than a 100-300 kWh these days seems like a bad plan), as they now have to compete a bit more...

SNOW MODE & other nice upgrades coming in Rivian Software Update 2022.47 ā„ļø

This is not a legislative or funding issue. This is a physics issue. I spent many years in Duluth, MN. I also didnā€™t drive those hills if I could avoid it. Seattle has similar angles on their roads, but many more people, many fewer drivers with experience in ice and snow due to much less...

WA State increasing chain enforcement / requirement on mountain roads

Yup. The ice-covered roads become more challenging. The benefit is that the heavier vehicles actually handle better in snow because they can punch deeper in for more traction. Busses would fly down the road when we lived in Northern WI on the snow-covered roads because of the weight.
