Hereās a scenario... Say I go camping, Iām in either the Rivian or the CyberTruck, my trailer has solar. I set up camp, I have fully charged house batteries, can I plug the solar from the trailer directly into the truck? -

So what your saying is i will be camping for a few days haha. I would have to have a pretty big battery bank as well correct? What would be ideal is to drive majority of the day. Find a place to stop rest off grid. Charge up via my solar+battery bank and have an adequate charge to continue on... -
Why is towing capacity so much different then R1T?
Travel trailer is 6,700 lbs dry. My gmc tows 9600, I have plenty of room for water, cargo etc. I like knowing I have an extra 2k lbs if I need it, really notice a difference uphill.- Jbordinhao

we currently have a GMC Sierra and a travel trailer. Definitely going to purchase with the Rivian R1T or Teslaās pickup truck. Trying to plan a little in cost of solar. why is towing capacity so much different then R1T? Is it due to the extra weight of the vehicle compared? Really wanted to go SUV route, but I need more towing capacity.- Jbordinhao

Rivian payload / towing capacity and trailer brake controller
I agree it will cut range in half, but thatās usually pretty normal. My GMC Sierra gets an average of 22 mpg. When I tow our trailer I get about 8 mpg. So a typical trip is about 260 miles for us. I always stop once in the middle. I figure with the R1S everything would be the same as traveling...- Jbordinhao
