If you set up a Poll by the month, not necessarily by the vehicle, I am sure people will let you know...I know this would be a small sample size, but I would love to see a poll of preorders by month, also including "haven't preordered yet".
Would be interesting to see & continue to track over time.
LA Auto Show dates were Nov 30-Dec 9. People preordered before Nov 30 so it started some time before the show. November 1st, 15th, 25th? There could be a handful or >1000 people ahead of someone who preordered during the LA show. No idea how many trucks will be built on any given day, let alone when production will actually begin. To me it's not about being one of the first, it's having some general idea whether I'm looking at Nov/Dec 2020 or June 2021, not that knowing the date preorders started would help in any way.Pre-orders started during the LA Auto Show. Again, why does it matter on the exact date? If you pre-ordered during that time period I think it's pretty safe to say you'll be among the first to get your Rivian EAV. ... Just make sure you report any problems and software bugs you find in a timely manner to Rivian so they can fix them before the rest of us receive our EAVs.
Like the Chicago Auto Show, the LA Auto Show actually is accessible before the public for media and special events. From LA Times, "The 111th edition of the exhibit began this week with press and industry events; it opens to the public Friday and runs through Dec. 9." The earliest date I've read someone pre-order was Nov 26th, which happens to be the Monday prior to the event opening to the public on Friday, the 30th. Orders could have easily been taken during that week by those who attended, though, and to your point, it's certainly possible Rivian took orders even prior to that without publicizing it, e.g. for their employees, investors, family and friends with connections.LA Auto Show dates were Nov 30-Dec 9. Further, "matter" is relative. Big picture, to me it doesn't matter. Smaller, egocentric picture, it does matter. I'm curious. It's fun to think about where I and others are in line and when we might have a new truck in the garage. 3/4 of the stuff on this forum is conjecture and banter regarding things about which we have little to no clue. Just trying to join the party
Hi ... new here. Just a silly question maybe someone can answer. I put down my $1 K yesterday for the R1T preorder. Does Rivian send you your place in line # or is it random ?Would be nice to see a show of hands of who's ordered so far. I'm in for a R1T with my $1k deposit!
Thanks JIMBO .... So I assume the configuration is a long list of options making these a custom ordered vehicle.Hi Estruck. Welcome and I also am a new to the board.
After I ordered mine, I sent Rivian an email asking about a confirmation number, and this was the reply back:
"Sorry for any confusion. To keep things simple, we’ve revised our preorder terms and conditions and removed confirmation numbers. To cancel a preorder, simply email [email protected] from the same address you used to make the preorder.
They also never gave a 'position in line'. I'm assuming the reason is the more expensive configurations will be built first, and with the deposit - there was no option yet to do any configurations.
