It seems it has been confirmed by Rivian chief engineer that the R1T and R1S will be developed in right hand drive for the Australian markets. Very satisfying to see Rivian laying ground work for future markets, goes to show how confident they are about not only succeeding in the States but abroad as well.

That is good news indeed!

The R1T is ideally suited for Australia, given the love affair we have with dual-cab utes.

Although Australia is only a very small market compared to the US and Europe, it has some challenges in terms of distance between major population centres, and amount of unsealed (gravel) roads, especially west of the Great Dividing Range. The Rivian appears to have the specs to overcome these issues.

I wish them every success when they do launch here, as I think success here will allay many concerns about range/durability in other markets.
