...as everyone runs to their trucks, reboots their infotainment systems, reboots their cell phones, anything to find a way to force a check-in to the OTA server!

(No, none of that actually works! But I bet some will try it now...)

I actually did find a way to instigate the OTAs. I created a video to walk through the steps.

Nah just time for you to get your jam on while you wait. Think of it as hold music

Does Rivian not support 5ghz? It doesn't recognize mine. I find that hard to believe.

Doesn't seem like it. Looks like my Rivian is on my 2.4 where my Model X is on 5, same AP.

After messing around it DOES use 5gh. Mine was being dumb or just too weak of a signal.

I was humming this song yesterday that felt so familiar and I couldn’t put my finger on it.

Then I realized it was the Rivian hold music. I have the entire one fooking song memorized and I keep fantasizing about jerking that acoustic guitar out of that hippie’s hands and smashing it!

I don't see how they could do an OTA to update that. As far as I understand, it would be a hardware thing. For a "Future Proof" vehicle, I can't believe they missed this one.

God, I hope that never happens to me. Have had Xfinity, insurance, etc. songs in my head from same type of situation. Knocking on wood.

It could be software limited. If you look at the FCC filings for Rivian's telematics system it mentions frequencies in the 5 GHz range: https://fccid.io/2AW3A-1NAT20TCM
