Yup, used that one. But once you get north of Cheyenne, depending on where you're going, you'll be white knuckling to get to the next charger. God forbid a headwind picks up. 'Cause that never happens in WY....
There is a Tesla in Evansville, WY, but yeah I hear you it's pretty empty up there. The best way to Montana from Colorado is to take I80 across to Salt Lake then go up I15. Lots of chargers that way. But it's a longer trip too!

My only concern with I 80 across Wyoming is that there are only 3 EA chargers from Cheyenne to the western border. One of those goes out and you’re screwed. Can’t use any of the Tesla ones.

The Albuquerque, NM one is odd, it is in a parking lot with an EA and Tesla SC. I was there March 19th, the Rivian station was installed but not online yet, EA and SC were working.
Sante Fe is where Rivian chargers are really needed. EA is there, but is scored a D.

Big oof. I was counting on those tesla stations in wyoming as backups. They don't allow other cars or don't work with the adapter?

Check the supercharger map. Only 2 in Wyoming that allow other EVs (with an adapter), one in Gillette and one in Evansville. Neither are on I-80.

All of these rivian locations seem to be built next to an existing tesla supercharger

That seems about the most useless place to build them especially if you can't match pricing

Did you just happen to miss every single post where some people would rather pay more die than to give a single penny to Tesla? Not saying I agree with that logic/motivation. Just pointing out there are people who would still use RAN even if it's right next to a Supercharger. And if you pay any passing attention to the news at all...

Plus, not all RAN locations are near a Supercharger. Those that are, there are likely reasons that are not immediately obvious (availability of existing infrastructure and land to lease).

Only a minority are so fixated on not using a supercharger and that is not a profitable business for RAN.

If you look at the ones here, every city has an existing supercharger and from the few I checked, they are being built in the same lots as a supercharger.

It's like rivian can't get electrical upgraded so they can only build where someone else puts them first

And there are 17 "coming soon" stations whereas the tesla network has 1100 coming soon in US and Canada

At least the Rivian sites will happen in a reasonable time. I know it’s only 17 but a lot of the superchargers have been in development for over a year.

when you build them next to an existing supercharger it's easy

Tesla upgrades electrical to make a lot of these happen

you can look at the tesla charging x page. The put out seemingly 100 superchargers a month

last month tesla put out 30 chargers in the US alone with most of them being 12 and 16 stalls. Largest was 24

In a single day tesla opened a 120, 52,48, 38, and 12 stall superchargers. That's the equivalent of 45 RAN stations

In fact many of these rivian "permits" are from 2021. Rivian is moving slower than tesla at this point
