Sometimes when it was raining, I noticed that the lowest setting in Auto was still too frequent. I would always go into that first setting in Auto and then back to off to do a single wipe.

I just discovered today that you can simply do a single press on the washer fluid button and it will do a single wipe without any washer fluid. Maybe everybody knows this, but I was blown away when I discovered this. In fact, so excited that I wanted to post this in case any others out there were previously frustrated by what I thought was a lack of a single wipe feature.

LOL, yeah, it's handy, our tesla does the same thing...I think that's a pretty common feature on most vehicles.

Yes, I agree, it's a very useful feature. However, it's too bad the rear wiper on the R1S doesn't behave the same way. R1S owners have to push the button twice. One to turn off and one to turn it back off.

I'm just happy to have physical buttons :)

Just be sure to not press the right stalk button, which I may or may not have done by accident…😳

I did that once on my Gen1 and it made a terrible grinding noise. Haven't tried it on my Gen2. That button should be disabled to do anything if you're going faster than 1 mph IMO

My experience has been that a single wipe is never enough. Just leaves streaks.

You only make that mistake once.. maybe twice... or maybe three times in my case.... But surely never a fourth.

The button also serves as the emergency brake, so unfortunately the onus is on us as drivers to adapt to it.

I've had Arty since 2022 and I still occasionally find new stuff. Sometimes it's been because I had forgotten about it, sometimes it's because of and update, and sometimes it's just new.

Fortunately, I figured out the single wipe procedure early on. Having said that, I find the whole wiper operation to be a horrible design. It’s finicky to operate the little switch, forcing the driver to take eyes off the road while trying to select the right wiper speed. This creates a very hazardous situation. Adjusting wiper speed should be something that can be easily and intuitively done, without being a distraction. Maybe I should live in a location where it rains a lot more, so that I can get more practice 😂 But, seriously, Rivian should change the terrible wiper switch design. It’s just frickin’ annoying and down right dangerous.

The Park button is meant to be the emergency brake in the setting of brake failure. It's meant to do that.
