Why is there a dead peddle on the drivers side but not the passengers? Can it be removed?

I drove one. Left foot flat. Didn't even notice it.

I’ve never heard of it having to do with FWD vs RWD. I’m having a tough time thinking of anything in the last 20 years (other than maybe a full size van or some pickups where you’re already sitting more upright) that don’t have one?

Like others said, I don’t think it serves any mechanical reason other than keeping your leg in a natural position. Used to be it was to keep you from instead, resting your foot on the clutch and loading up your throw out bearing (premature wear).

Ferrari does have something on the passenger side sort of like the old footrests on a tour bus, train or plane … but designed more to give you something to push off on, arguably to help you stay in the seat.

My Tesla has no peddles, dead or alive.
