You might be the first person I've met with the same mix as my dog. She looks similar (but different) in that she got much more of the shepherd coloring but she is soft as a teddy bear.

Car Cat?!?! I made the mistake of trying to take our fat black tabby 'Luna' to the vet once...outside her travel crate. She was on my lap, fat-cat status...as soon as the car started moving...end of days...chaos ensued...and she somehow ended up pinned behind my back and the seat front after peeing under it.

Needless to say we made it a few blocks, I pulled over and she did not hesitate to get in her travel crate. ???

Frosty rides in a medium sized dog crate with a towel as a cushion on one side and a litter box on the other. He generally curls up and sleeps on his towel most of the time. Every so often he’ll come out if the car isn’t moving around too much. We got him as a kitten from the local shelter so he doesn’t know any better.

Our previous cat was mostly okay, too, but if the car was too hot when we first got in he was unhappy. One time departing from Palm Springs he let us know just how unhappy he was: on the freeway at 66+ mph the cat climbed onto my husband’s lap facing backwards and peed onto the mat below. He was literally pissed off. Fortunately these were rubber all weather mats. From then on we pre-cooled the car so he had us trained well. We also didn’t let him out of his cage after that, either. Just in case.
