There are options from EV Sportline (1EV), M&R, S00nish, and DCE (Weistec). Am I missing any?

Has anyone compared the pros and cons of all of the A-pillar/hood racket options?

I think you got them all covered. M&R, iirc, mounts to the fender mounting points (does not move with hood). I had thought about getting a set, until after reading some experiences with ditch lights in general... light up too much of the hood, which result in blinding glare for driver.

I'm actually looking to mount emergency lights such as Whelen Ions. The flashback should be better than the light going through the windshield and then on the hood

Let us know what you end up with and why. The soonish ones only use one of the two hood bolts which apparently makes install easier with less of a chance of the hood becoming misaligned during install. I don't know if there's any downsides to them being supported by just one bolt.

I spent hours obsessing over this. Partly because I'm pretty picky, partly because I've had really good mounts on other vehicles, and partly just because that's what I do. Spend too much time in too many details.

I came out with only one single answer, because the others had a variety of mounting weirdness, or odd positions. Many don't seem to know that ditch lights by definition should point out and front, not over the hood.

I bought the bracket-only kit from M&R and added Morimoto floods. I didn't like the bundled lights offered. This meant making up all my own wiring, which is fine and I have everything necessary on hand. I used a wireless switch since I wasn't sure how to get a wire from the cab to under-hood area. This also means I can pocket one of the remotes and turn the lights on/off remotely in camp.

I'm looking at these mounts for my 4" lights. I see they're designed for THEIR 3.2" lights, but since you have them installed and would know better than me for pictures, do you think they'd work with the Auxbeam 4" triangle lights? I want to do either these or the s00nish mount. So that I'm not having to completely undo the hood.

I think most lights should be fine. See if this answers it, if not, I can try other angles.

Would you mind eye balling the clearance from the bottom of the bracket to the windshield? That seems to be the part that would really matter for the mount, right? First time doing this, so lemme know if I'm wrong.

Yes, I think you are correct. I've had large lights that would fit here, but also ones that might not.

Let's see if a video helps. From the top of the bracket to the glass is about 2" and I assume your lights would be slightly raised by their bracket, so probably more like 3" clearance.

That helps a lot. That clearance should work. Thanks man!

Fabricated these brackets for the hood and lights but feel free to check them out if they peak your interest, or even just buy the brackets we have them seperatly. Ive been playing around with them and I think theyre pretty solid.
