I saw a R1T for a hot second in SLU but I've never seen them up close / taken a look at the interior. Have people had success bothering the folks at the Bellevue service center to check the trucks out? I also really want to drive one as the size makes me very curious how it feels in the city. Are test drives ever coming back?

Thanks

People go to the Bellevue Service Center all the time to see them. I have not yet, and still have not seen a Rivian in person. I’ve been hoping to see one in the wild —I feel like it will be more exciting when I actually see one on the road rather than seeking it out. Like going on a safari versus going to the zoo… I also don’t want to bother the service employees.

There’s a good chance that people will be bringing them to Cars and Coffee now that the weather is good. There is one at Seward Park and I think another on the East Side. I don’t know the times though, they tend to be weekly and are publicized on Facebook and Instagram.

If you go to the Bellevue SC and take the alley on the north side of it, you can walk around to the back where they stage the R1Ts and see them from the other side of the fence.

HAHA seeing them from the other side of the fence truly is going to the zoo. We want the petting zoo at least.

I seriously wished they would just let people know "Hey we have an R1T to come sit in and look at". I'm all in waiting for R1S to show up in the driveway, but seriously at times it feels weird to have never even touched a Rivian in person.

in general, they do not let folks just wander around the lot to look at the vehicles. if you're outside the fence either on the north or south side, you can get pretty close to one. basically within touching distance if you have long arms.
be aware they do have a security guard onsite and he will shoo you away after business hours.
that being said, i did once drop by and the employee was kind enough to drive one out and even let me sit it in, play around with the interface, seats and even the tailgate, gear tunnel, and frunk. but this was early on when they only had 3-4 R1Ts.
i think its a missed opportunity that Rivian doesnt have one T available in the lobby to serve as a show piece, like they do at the Venice hub. those who have ordered would get to see what they are ordering and those who are on the fence might be persuaded to make the purchase because these bad boys are 100x better in person than online.

That's creepy.

Who's the security? I was there for a service and walked right in to the lobby, am employee studying for a certification exam had to tell the manager I was there. When I came back from putzing, I walked right in again and no one was there but the cleaning lady for like an hour. In fact, I watched an employee give a tour of an R1T on display.

@messinator Have you tried reaching out to CS and asking to see one at Bellevue?

It's really not. The alley leads to a business, it's in an extremely busy and well-traveled area...

Yes - they basically said that I would get a chance to see one before my delivery via a First Mile (when i think that a significant portion of owners received delivery before ever seeing one in person..)

Two random people showed up today at the Bellevue SC while I was taking delivery there. They also delivered 2 trucks while I was there besides mine.

In each case of the random person coming in, an employee spoke with them for a while. I don't know that they were given a tour of a vehicle - I got the impression everything on the lot right now (20ish) is staged for delivery (my specialist had 4 that day and mentioned they'd been delivering a lot lately). You never know, though. If either of the random people had asked me to see my truck, I'd have let them, but neither asked and I'm not friendly enough to offer out of the blue :)

What time were you there? I was standing out front between 11 and ~1pm, so if you were there then and saw a dude covered in ink, that was me :)
