Hey everyone!

We have a handful of upcoming releases for the R1T, but we wanted to see what some fellow passionate R1T owners thought about addressing any shortcomings the truck might have.

Some of you hit off-roading trails with these things, and we know a few of you have been doing drag races.

We've certainly heard all of the demands for better brake components (More on that soon. Testing is in progress. ) - but what else?

Is there a particular part of the R1T you think needs improving?

Front skidplate (to replace the OEM silver plastic piece).

A true lift kit. I probably wouldn't buy this, but I'd really want to.

Tie-rods: Tougher but not so much that risk damage upstream. And the other reason is so owners are not stuck with having SC as the only source for spares and replacements.

Underdash 12V: Easy plug and play retrofit for those delivered without it. Even a low key no-drill solution would be nice. However, given Rivian has moved on to gen2, is the market big enough to justify development?

Rear license plate relocation and lighting: for those who want to use hitch mounted swing away spare carriers (and no lose rear park distance sensors).

Winch bumper: Often talked about. But difficult nut to crack (how to power winch?).

Front lower bash plate: This has been talked about before. The factory one is just for looks. Functional one would be nice, but not sure what it would be mounted to. Likely needs to be designed in conjunction with winch bumper.

Brake upgrade?? IMO completely unnecessary.

I've never heard this, at all. Why?

Self driving.
Some sort of bed step up from the rear, both with tailgate up, but mostly tailgate down. I’m tired of using the tire to get on the bed.
Um.......the gear tunnel doors. Works great.

This exists and there was an announcement about it here. Search for it. Not expensive, either.

No it does not. There are aftermarket skid plates, but they don't touch the silver metallic part that is part of the factory bumper. The very part lots of people ID—in that very thread—as the part that is in need of aftermarket solution the most.

Self driving.
It's called Drivers' Ed at the local community college and besides the point for aftermarket.

Suspension parts! After reading posts of $4000 for two dampers from Rivian, we need some alternatives when warranty runs out.

Some affordable bed/roof bars that work the same as Rivian with quick disconnect.
I use the gear tunnel door as step into/out of bed.

I have had this idea of foldable solar panels that double as a tonneau cover. The panels charge a lithium battery. The battery connects to the 12V system to essentially trickle charge the 12V battery. The Li battery is lust large enough to trickle charge overnight. I have proven this electrically in principle, but have not completed the engineering to attach suitable panels. I think this could be a nice upgrade for R1T's w/o a tonneau cover but not sure if there's a big enough market.
