When do you think we will be getting notices to start ordering our R2?

how far in advance of them actually delivering do you think?

also do you think we will know ahead of time all the different options and their specs and prices? or will that come out all at the same time?

My take, they are saying deliveries first half of 2026 so I’m guessing Q2 so not expecting anything until Q1 2026 for ordering. Maybe Q4 2025 we will start seeing more information.

Would be great if they could move this window up but they know they need this ASAP so I’m sure they are already straining with the projections they have shared.

I just hope they are able to give out more info sooner, so people can plan their future car purchases. The faster we know what the final specs are, and options and the prices of those, the faster we could make a decision on if to wait for it, or purchase a different vehicle.

If the Tri motor or more expensive versions are available first ALA Tesla do you wait? I suspect it will be a while to get the single motor version probably not till 2028 or later. Hights margin cars will be produced first.

They probably don’t want to risk osborning R1S sales now for future R2 sales by releasing specs. Rivian needs all of the sales they can get now.

Also, they are likely still negotiating prices from suppliers so Rivian probably doesn’t know what the final sale prices are going to be.

If you need to make a decision soon, there are R1S available for delivery within a few weeks. ?

Do you think so? With R2 being their attempt to get significant adoption efforts underway, wouldn't they want to keep it affordable to the masses? I expect the bait and switch “it will cost $45k” then sells for $110k when it comes out from Tesla, but that's not a Rivian approach and not what will get them 400k orders.

Top trim won’t be 110k but I can see the top trim R2 and bottom trim R1S being close to each other.

My speculation hat is on here. My guess is a couple months before first deliveries start. So like someone said above in 2026. Rivian still has the Gen 2 quad in the pipeline for this year and they are now producing more commercial vans for non-amazon orders. You never know with Rivian as they like surprises...soo...always possible we could see R2 sooner....but no evidence currently that we will.

pure unsubstantiated rumor from a comment in response to a question I asked:
first day orders should start configs Q4/25 -> Q1/26 with deliveries sometime after based on production schedules
the production schedules and subsequent deliveries will be based on availability of the config model since there are supposed to be 3

$45-65k is the supposed range for R2. Also, I don't wanna see one until all the Gen 2 software, etc is perfected because this will be what R2 is based on.

I agree with those saying that end of '25 beginning of '26 for ordering. I do expect that more info related to specs will be released this year. I expect something released soon as it is one year after they launched the R2.

Very little info as to options available to date. I would not expect to see first delivery until mid/late 2026. Original plan was to have production ready early 2026. No way to rush the process. Hoping they stay with original plan to give current Rivian owners priority delivery

Depends how quickly they get the plant up and running. S00N! Essentially anywhere from late 2025 to first quarter 2026. Also hopefully they’ll have one in each of the spaces for people to demo before ordering. But we’ll see how it goes.
