I'm backing away from slide guitar rock and taking a left this morning:

LeAnn Rimes "Hallelujah" (Leonard Cohen Cover) [LIVE @ SiriusXM] | The Pulse - YouTube

EDIT: My sincere apologies for breaking your trust. Dunno what I was thinking, it'll never happen again.

The Black Keys - Thickfreakness - YouTube
Moosehead,

I love your sense of humor. Just doubled-back after a hiatus and caught this.

You got me back on track with your March 3rd apology and bringing in The Black Keys for redemption. If not for that second entry, I was ready to cancel my subscription to the Forums.

Well-played, Moosehead, well-played.... 👏

Duck, welcome back, you were missed.

Yea, that Hallelujah was initially for the Pre-March 1 Price reversal. Came to my senses.

Some more Sunday Slide Serving for your air guitar.

The Long Cut! Do it all the time.

My wife still looks at me like I’m nuts when I leave the house just to go for a drive with no particular place to go.
My addiction to music can have amusing consequences. More than a few friends and family members have seem me in my parked car, apparently suffering some sort of convulsive episode. Occasionally, one will approach to see if they can help, only to realize that as I was arriving, over the radio, the 17+ minute version of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, by Iron Butterfly had started.

Much like Cartman in SOUTH PARK (when Come Sail Away with Me by Styx starts), I can't interrupt that song for anything. I lose all self-control and must let it play until the end before life can resume. Very sad admission, but that song is like aural crack to me. The only way I can function is with 17+ minutes of high volume therapy. The temporary placard in the driver's window gives fair warning: "When this drummer's rockin', don't bother knockin'!"

My steering wheels and dashboards have suffered over the years because of that drum solo. Play it at your own risk!

I initially thought this thread was kinda silly (which is also kind of the point) but I find myself routinely asking myself "will this be the first song in the new truck" whenever I'm listening to music.

Right now I'm vacillating between "Immigrant Song" (Led Zeppelin), "Babylon Sisters" (Steely Dan) and "I am a Rifle" (Propagandhi)

Although I'm sure it'll be something else completely whenever the day finally arrives.

Tedeschi Trucks

Govt Mule is greatly under-appreciated! Haynes and Trucks managed to keep The Allman Brothers going for a bunch of extra years, and I will always love them for that, let alone their own stuff. Thanks to you, I now know what the Meridian will be cranking out today. Nothin' but GM & AB.

Here's a clip of Derek Trucks playing Layla with the Allman Brothers as a 13-year old. While his cover of Layla is special, at about the 3:00 mark, he's joined for an impressive round of dueling guitars. He always seems so chill when on stage, seemingly free of a huge ego. If I were able to play like that at any age, that Braves hat would have to be a size 8¾.

With the musical DNA that Derek and his wife Susan Tedeschi bring to the world, I can only imagine what they're kids, now 18'ish and 20'ish, might be capable of, if they're into playing and singing.

I wonder if that Coricidin bottle he's using has some of that great Allman Brothers history behind it.

Black Keys just dropped a new album today. All of it is tremendous.

This is just one pick, cause Billy Gibbons joins in.

Mine ended up being...
Sabotage - Beastie Boys
Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
Thunderstruck - AC/DC
Those are the first 3 songs on my Amazon Music Roadrtip Playlist.
