Q. Would it be possible to get the speaker count and overall wattage of the Elevation system in the R1T.

A. The R1T has 18 speakers in the Rivian Elevation 360° audio which is only in the Launch Edition and the Adventure Package trim. Rivian Elevation 360° audio has more power per channel, higher quality components, and more channels including: four roof speakers, a coaxial center channel, and two subwoofers for R1T under the second row seating, with a total of 1200W.

Chat response when asked about the tailgate latch location, since there is no traditional latch handle visible on the back of the tailgate to use to open it.

Just following up on our conversation from yesterday! I was able to confirm the tailgate latch is on top, so no need to reach behind it! I hope this helps.

Not necessarily, think about an opera hall or singing in the shower...hard surfaces do reflect sound, but that can be good.

A system like this with a high number of speakers will be tuned for the specific acoustics of the vehicle (hopefully).

3-D sounds a little gimmicky to me, but I'm extremely excited to hear this system.

I've had aftermarket audio in most of my vehicles, but nowhere near this number of speakers, and crossover settings that should be pedestrian compared to this.

Probably not completely SOL & more a minor inconvenience, because the keyfob might have all the same controls, and the app certainly will.

I also bet the UI inside or Alexa will be able to control those too.

This video is a really good rewatch.

A few takeaways:
1) Alexa controls (hood, gear tunnel, hopefully tailgate) & privacy focus
2) Some brief shots of the Forest Green interior
3) RJ mentioning 300kW max charging & "10-90% charge in 35-40 minutes"
4) Rivian Adventure Network charging is just for Rivians
5) R1S 3rd row is "better than what you see here", "I'm 6'1"-6'2" and I can fit comfortably", "In the production car, it's really good" - Further confirmation that the production design is quite different than the prototype
6) Mention of 3 additional future vehicles

Exciting news on the audio system:

On the Rivian Elevation 360° audio system for the R1S: We'll be sharing the brand closer to delivery. It's 1400 watts with 22 speakers. To compare, our standard surround sound will have 14 speakers, and 280 watts. The Elevation Audio will offer more channels, more power per channel, and higher quality components. This includes four roof speakers, a coaxial center channel, and a subwoofer in the cargo area. More details to come on the tweeters location, center speaker, and amplifiers as we approach production.

Going back to the question of # of speakers, I would guess that the R1S has 22 (since it has a full third row of space to put them) while the R1T has 18 (since it’s just the two rows in a smaller cabin). Haven’t confirmed it with anyone, but it sorta makes sense, no?
