"Have you tried using it? It being “locked” is just a selection in the settings menu turning it off."
I've never seen an option (to turn PTC on/off) in the settings menu. The switch on the bed rail does nothing, and I've not seen any switch in truck menus to open/close it. If there is some place I've overlooked (wouldn't be the first time), that would enable it, I would surely try it.
As far as I can tell, the SC has flipped a (s/w) switch that tells it there is no PTC. Someday, when RJ finally sends the updated assembly for my truck, they'll flip that switch back on.
