My R1S Quad was side swiped and went to a Rivian Certified Body Shop 3 months ago. They let the car sit and the HV battery completely drained and killed the 12v battery.

Is there a test to determine what damage has been done to the HV battery due to being at 0% for weeks?

Also, why does Rivian hide the battery state of charge while in service? Even Tesla gives us this data. They should give us more data on the car while in service, especially at 3rd party service centers, where the "certification process" is suspect.

edit: I added a photo that shows the car being charged for just under 3 hours and adding 3kW, and still at 0 miles of range.

Charge it from 0% to 100% and compare the input to the total battery capacity when new to see what capacity was lost. That's the only way I know of short of Rivian telling you. With that said it certainly wasn't good the shop left it dead. You'd think a Rivian certified shop would know that's bad for EVs.

2023 R1T Dual Performance Max
Agree the shop should be more careful, and probably liable to have the battery health evaluated... Compensation if damaged by their negligence.

Some anecdotal info from my experience that may or may not apply: Bought my dual perf max R1T from a salvage yard. Sat in the salvage yard for almost 6 months. Both batteries dead when delivered. 12v jumped to bring it back to life. With HV 0% I was still able to drive it 1/4 mile at 5mph to my driveway where it quit completely, within 20' of my L2 charger. It charged just fine and I see no loss in capacity. Have driven 6k miles in the past 4 months with zero battery issues. That includes a few long trips.

Hopefully bodes well for you. Best result would be no issue, rather than having a less capable vehicle and chasing after the shop for recompense.
