Warrenty Part Backordered Question - Dampener

Have a r1s in for a warranty repair but the dampener is on back order and they can't get it from the manufacturer yet. They're trying to source it from other shops and it's been about 3 weeks.

What happens if they can't get the item or am I just stuck waiting?

They were able to give us an r1t but would very much like to have the r1s back to use the extra backseats and we're paying for it on finance.

I think you are lucky to get an R1T loaner. Some centers only stick you in an Enterprise rental. Be glad this part failed while under warranty.

It won’t be back ordered indefinitely. It’s just ebb and flow of manufacturing and inventory allocation between vehicle assembly and replacement stock. You got a loaner to drive as you wait. So what’s the big deal?
