Is it, or will it ever be, possible to use a smart watch as a key, instead of a smart phone? I have an AppleWatch with cellular connectivity. Basically, the watch performs most of the same functions (calls, texts, emails, mobile payments, etc, etc.) as the iPhone. Therefore, I often go out without my iPhone. It‘s just way more convenient to not have to worry about carrying my phone around all the time or remembering to grab it every time I walk out of my home. Actually, I may prefer to manually lock and unlock my vehicle doors. This would be a pain, if I had to fish my phone out of my pocket each time. With a watch, it would be easy peasy. Using a watch would combine all the best features of a phone, the FOB, the card and the wrist band.
