Watching this video a few times now. I’d say the seats are definitely different. They look more out together and......tight?

Worried about the steering wheel, one of the most important parts of the car. I went to the mill valley event in Person and the prototype wheel looks greatn, but this version appears quite different from all the concepts to date. Or maybe it’s just me. The airbag looks so different on this latest video, hoping it’s just a placeholder part for testing fitment.

What’s different about it? They look pretty much identical to me

Looks like molded plastic instead of leather wrapped, otherwise the same. Similarly, the wood on the dash also appeared to have been replaced by plastic. Not sure if we're seeing design changes, optional interior bits or placeholder parts.

Molded plastic vs stitched leather, and they aren’t the same shape either. One looks like a 997 Porsche airbag, the other looks like a 992, properly modern and elegant. Hopefully all these new plastic pieces are just placeholders and not production pieces for a “stripped down” version. If the potential $70k rivian ends up being the smallest battery and all plasticky with a $10k interior upgrade option, I’ll likely wait for my cybertruck order instead.

at least it’s not the awful generic wheel they used for the testing version, but I’m hoping this new black one in the video. Since they’ve said rivian is benchmarking high end vehicles for design, maybe they’ll leave it like the version they’ve been showing off for a year now.

It must be more similar in weight to a Tacoma than an F-150.
No, battery packs are still quite heavy.

2020 Tacoma: 3980-4480 lbs
2020 F-150: 4069 - 5684 lbs
2021 R1T: 5886 lbs

It is not clear which battery pack the Rivian weight spec is for. My guess is the 135 kWh pack but that's just a guess.

Yup, add another 800lb give or take for the 180kwh pack, that’s heavy duty truck weight territory.

I can only imagine what the Cybertruck will weigh. Especially if they are using a 200 kWh pack for 500 miles. Something like 7-8,000lbs just based on the size would be my guess

Hopefully it won't be an extra 800 lbs. The extra cells alone would be 400 lbs then add a little more for the structure of the modules, cooling, etc. Probably closer to 500 lbs total.

Finished pack energy densities are running 150 to 170 Wh/kg for Tesla, Rivian has indicated they will be a bit better.
If they could get 180 Wh/kg, that would be ~550 additional lbs for the 180 over the 135 kWh versions. At 150 Wh/kg it would add ~660 lbs.

Did anyone else notice the difference in the stadium headlight? The Rivian compass is more prominent in the latest video and the Rivian between the high and low beams is no longer embossed. It is more or less printed in the middle.

A few more small observations.

Good catch about the paddle shifters. I wonder if that will be an option to change the regen lvl.
