I was watching this Hagerty video about Cerakote and the finisher is doing a “production” run of parts for Rivian. These are the charge door bracket, you can spiral machined into the bracket that allows the door to rotate upward as it opens. Interesting, though brief, discussion about why they are using a ceramic coating over alternates like powder coating.

Thanks for posting this. Pretty wild to see a tiny shop making parts for $20 billion company.
you’d be surprised at all the little job shops supplying OEMS.
We used to have a laser cutting operation in southern Ontario, two machines and fewer than ten employees. They had a contract to supply running board tubes to Mercedes for the early ML class SUVs.


I worked at a small job shop which was the only approved supplier of a certain handle used on a line of Pratt & Whitney turbines…. And on and on
