Vehicle always states it's offline

Has anyone else had the vehicle always be stuff in an offline state? Navigation won't let you search locations and all internet-based apps are offline. App shows the vehicle is offline, but we can start the hvac or anything else, eventhough it says the vehicle is offline. Has been an issue for the last 2 weeks, waited for the new update to see if it'd fix, but it's continued even after soft and hard restarts.

Anyone else have something similar or other troubleshooting steps?

I have this issue as well GEn2 R1S Max. Just received it after 3 weeks broken on delivery day. I am offline constantly. Even with connect + active. I have to connect to my cell phone hotspot to get it to do anything.

I have had this issue on my 2025 r1s and a full reboot seems to have resolved it for the most part.

I had the same issue. Full reboot seems to have resolved it.

I had similar issue with Navigation and Spotify not working even after hard and soft resets. CS had me turn off Rivian Hot Spot. Works perfectly as long as Hotspot off…. A work around for sure. And yes I paid the annual CONNECT +

Did another hard reset and sleep. Next day I oggled off and on the wifi and hot spot. Appears to be working now, will have my wife test it out (or ask if she's tried the navigation again) or I'll test it tomorrow when I drove it next. We don't use Alexa, Amazon Music, Spotify or Apple Music so we wouldn't notice if those work now. Nav worked when tested in the garage, but will try to remember to real-world test it this week.

I have this but just from the app telling me the car is disconnected from the cloud.

Having the same issue on my gen2 since day 1. It's getting worse now because of the sleep "improvement". The only way around is to turn off the wifi and use LTE only.

After getting to drive it today. Confirming this is what we had to do. Not an issue for us as we're not sitting in the car utilizing the new casting feature or youtube, but hopefully fixed in 3 weeks. Would like it working by the time we actually take it on an extended trip.

Only thing I didn't test was if it stays off when toggling back the hotspot or wifi.

It could be related to your wifi settings depending on what protocols you have set up. I have not dug into it since I have not looked into the particulars for Rivian. I presume it is using a dynamic IP and not static. If you can assign it a static IP perhaps that would help since it sounds like folks are seeing the issue resolve itself either with reboots or toggling wifi on and off.

Possibly, but if the cloud connection only fails or is intermittent while on wifi and is otherwise reliable while on cellular data, I would suspect the issue is related to the router protocols, IP assignment, or network security rather than with your Rivian. I am not a computer science engineer though, so someone else may know better. I have not had issues with cloud connectivity through the app. I did however go into my routers settings (WRT1900), find my Rivian connected to the 2.4Ghz network, and reserve it's IP. It seems to work as it previously did though, and this was just for experimentation. I also have plenty of other home automation devices that require having assigned IPs. My thought is perhaps the vehicle may not be connecting to your network properly and then is switching between trying to connect to wifi and back to cellular data, presuming you have that subscription. If you do not have the cellular data plan for the vehicle, then maybe some of the issues in this thread arose when trial subscription services expired? Again, just guessing, and not a computer science major.

I’ve found that turning on hotspot + WiFi disables connection for both…
When icons show as disabled they both seem to work fine!
This was particularly annoying since when disabled the driver+ wouldn’t work…
Not sure how or why this is happening but thought I’d share in case it helps anyone else…
