I have a Tesla wall charger installed at my house now. I'm choosing not to get the Rivian wall charger and get an adapter to charge my truck once I get it.

Has anyone done this and have you had any problems?

As long as the adapter works, you'll be fine. The HPWC can charge any car. It's not like the SC network where Tesla locks out any non Tesla.

I used the Lectron 48amp adapter without issue up until I had the Tesla wall connector replaced with the Rivian one.

Another data point here. Traded in my Tesla on Friday, had the Lektron adapter and it's been working perfectly thus far. Getting 9kW, sometimes 10, through a 50A circuit.

Like others, I use the Lectron adapter. No issues for almost 3 months.

Until our garage rebuild is complete, we're using our Tesla Mobile Connector with the Lectron Tesla->J1772 adapter

It's working just fine at 40A (Since we only have a 50A circuit for the plug).

I'd expect the Tesla Wall Connector would work similarly fine.

I used my Tesla charger for 3 months with the Lectron adapter just fine. Got about 20 miles per hour. Just got the Rivian charger installed yesterday. It charges at 24-25 MPH. Plug goes into the port MUCH easier with the Rivian charger.

What circuit do you have for the charger? 50A? I'm getting 9-10kW with the adapter, which is exactly what I was getting in my Tesla, too.

My Tesla charger was an 80 amp charger. Ran it through a 100 amp breaker. For the new install, I installed a new electrical panel and am using a 60 amp breaker for the Rivian charger. Per the instructions that came with the Rivian charger

Gotcha. That's important info to know regarding why you have a better charge rate now. I'm on a 50A circuit, meaning my charger won't go any faster and it's unlikely I'd get a better charge rate by installing the Rivian charger.
