Most of the commentary on this update is the about the ride quality. Has anyone tested the supposed improvement of 25% on vampire drain at home?
Maybe? I left mine unplugged for around 36 hours over the weekend and saw around 1.5 kWh. I had previously seen almost 1.5 kWh per day, so it might be down to 1 kWh per day now while at home with GG off at home.

The max is still 320kbps. Significantly lower than other sources.
The vast majority of people can't even tell the difference between 128 kbps and 320 kbps let alone lossless. In the online test/quiz NPR had at one point I could tell the difference between the lossless/WAV and the various compression schemes with good headphones, but they showed in their results the majority couldn't. If you/others think they can actually hear a difference, more power to them. The highest quality on Spotify sounds fine to me and is still worlds better than Bluetooth audio or the shite quality of Sirius XM from a satellite vs streaming.

The bitrate of Blutooth audio ranges from 256 kbps to well over 1 mbps depending on codec.

So I'm not sure how you can say that 320 kbps Spotify sounds 'worlds better' than the minimum 256 kbps Bluetooth, but it unrealistic for others to say the same when comparing 320 kbps Spotify to 850 kbps Amazon Music (average for HD, and 3.73 mbps for Ultra HD)?

This, plus to really enjoy and realize the benefits of lossless or HD audio you need an amazing system with complete quiet. With the Rivian you get neither of those things so it really doesn’t matter. I can’t tell the difference between Tidal HD or Bluetooth in the vehicle when driving, mayyyybe at stop there is a subtle difference, but that could also be me ‘trying’ to hear a difference because I know it’s higher bit rate. Before anyone takes this as me hating on the audio system, it’s not that.. it’s just, if anyone is grasping for bit rate audio and it’s that important for them, they should be sitting in something that’s supremely quiet like a Rolls, which could possibly fulfill the promise of HD audio/FLAC/SACD. (My take).

Well I just did a 12 hour test, from about 7pm to 7am in my garage Gear Guard Off at home. Very happy with results. Lost 1 mile of range and used 0.6 kWh. This seems like a pretty big improvement.

Consider yourself lucky, I'm thinking of renaming my R1S to Vlad Tepes

Is anyone really going to use the default speed setting for ACC? It’s the headlining improvement and really it’s something I’d never bother with.

The biggest improvement, IMO, is the 25% improvement in vampire drain. That’s progress IMO. The ride improvements may be a bigger deal but I‘ll have to drive for a bit before I decide.

Phone integration continues to be a sore spot for Rivian’s software. Some additional button controls is a minor improvement but Rivian is still missing key features like texting and even audio over USB.

And still no Netflix/Youtube/Disney+/etc./etc./etc.
How hard is it to make a webapp? How about just enabling a web browser with shortcuts built in?
100% with you on USB-sourced audio. The streaming stuff blows. However, the option to view videos scares me. People already demonstrate a glaring inability multitask when driving (texting, scrolling though whatever) without holding traffic up or killing others. I can only imagine how bad it'd get if everyone was watching "Ancient Aliens - Season 3" at the stop light, or even worse, while driving. Yeah yeah, I get it, you're a total ace at doing multiple things simultaneously - I'm talking about the guy next to you, ok?

It wouldn't be active when you are driving, only when you are stopped charging or something. Similar to Tesla.

After having driven on AP/Stiff/Standard height mode for some time now, I"m starting to experience the front end severely bottoming out going over humps (wider speed bumps) and uneven roads. If I drive faster, it's better, but then I"m defeating the purpose of the hump., while driving too slow results in the jarring/rocking motion. Now wishing there is a third mode to revert to the stiff mode before the update. Anyone else experience this?

Curious if anyone else is hearing a soft "squeek" from the rear suspension when going over speed bumps.?

I don't remember hearing this before the latest update - but maybe it's because I'm looking for differences and paying different attention.

I get where you're comin' from there. But really, those features should be disabled when the vehicle is not in Park. Those are things meant to keep you occupied when you're charging for a significant period of time.

I believe that's how Tesla does it.

Ah ok, that makes sense. In my defense, I grew up being told to "just look out the window" whenever I complained about being bored, so all this is new to me.

Ima gonna drop in here and claim the the title of "Furthest Away From Your R1T Doing a Remote Update", as I did so while sitting on a beach in Kamari, Santorini Island in Greece.

I didn't know what to expect when I got back home, but Green Lantern seems none the less for wear and tear, and the ride does seem smoother now.

Seems like they've had a regression in this release. Since delivery I'd had a problem with the truck phantom braking while going straight past a left turn lane if there were cars stopped in the turn lane. That went away maybe in May, but it popped up again after installing this update. Worse, it's now extended to phantom braking if there's a car in the oncoming left turn lane.
