I asked if we could buy the plastic panels and clips and was not only told no and they would have to install it. But he included it may void warranty if we put on the plastic panels which is crazy to me and I think even violates the right to repair act. I don't know much about the laws but i feel like we need to voice our opinions on this stuff now.

That's fine. But for now I'll just cut the speaker wire(s). Or maybe some duct tape over the speaker grille will be sufficient. Has anyone tried that?

This is encouraging: maybe a simple piece of tape will suffice. Or maybe one could (accidentally :) inject a bunch of mud thru the grilles.
